I received an email stating that I would get a 1099 for an item sold but never received one
I sold a $600 watch in 2023 and received an email from Ebay saying that I would get a 1099 but I have not received one. Has the $600 limit for a 1099 been raised? Thanks

·2 years agoIn November, the IRS announced that once again they were delaying implementation of the $600 threshold, so for 2023 it's still $20K unless you live in one of the States that have set a lower threshold. About 8 states have set their own 1099-K requirements, and most are $600.

·2 years agoThe threshold for eBay to report your internet sales to the IRS for 2023 was 200 items AND $20,000 in sales.
BUT that doesn't mean you don't have to declare the earnings from that watch on your taxes. You don't need a 1099 for that. Declaring your eBay earnings doesn't always mean you're going to pay any taxes on it. Speak with a tax professional.
I declare my eBay earnings every year without one.
