You can download the eBay app to communicate with me through the eBay Message Center while you are at work. Otherwise, after you finish your shift, you can communicate with me on your laptop.

By the way, I closed my PayPal account because I was getting too many fraudulent payment notifications texted to me.

Unless they're trying to scam you with the fake PayPal payment receipt there is no need to text or message you before they make a payment.
They win, they pay, you ship.
Or if they don't pay you cancel on day 4 and give them an unpaid strike.
I believe the buyer wants your number in the answering text you send so they can steal your pricey items. Or they want to tell you they need your PayPal info so they can pay. They do not. I smell a rat.

Then do yourself and all of the rest of us a favor by reporting the email to eBay as an attempt to take the conversation off of eBay. They REALLY hate when that happens.

Especially the bit about reporting the buyer for attempting to take the sale off ebay...
By our experience, they wont do a BLESSED THING if you report a buyer for fraud or thievery of your item - Seriously - But report them for trying to take money out of the sites pocket? Yeah, that'll likely be game over for the scammer...

Any message that asks for a text is a scam.

·1 year agoThey want to send you a FAKE you have been paid message in hopes you will ship merchandise that was never paid for. Do not reply. They won't be making a real payment.

·1 year agoBlock the buyer ASAP and cancel the sale...wait 4 days...this is the weekend with a Monday holiday.
Reply to buyer...'I am currently out of the office and will return Tuesday after 9AM'...something like that...make it sound like an auto-reply.

·1 year agoYes, you're dealing with scammers. That is a classic text, copied-and-pasted to as many sellers as they can reach before eBay detects it and shuts down the scammer's account.
If you text them, that gives them an off-eBay access path to you via your phone number, and you'll get completely fake payment notifications sent to your phone after that, telling you to ship before the funds appear (which they never will).
Given the wording of the message, even though it comes from a scammer anyway, you can legitimately cancel the sale as Buyer Requested.

I would cancel the Order(s) on Day 4, citing 'Buyer never paid'. Too bad they won't be able to read that message, but, hey...
Edit to add: ^^^ Don't send a message for real. Simply accommodate the buyer by cancelling with a UPI strike. 🙌

·1 year agoDefinitely. Assume all three orders are from the same buyer.
