I need help to sell a collection of Alfa Romeo Spider (1991-1994, S3 & S4 models) parts.
Over the years when I owned a 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce, I collected various "spare" parts to have later when (and if ever) needed. I decided to part with the car and now have quite a collection of OEM (new & used) Alfa Spider parts, literature, manuals, etc... etc...
I will be moving very soon and need help selling this collection of items, most of which are rare and hard to find these days. I prefer to sell the items as an entire group, but if someone is willing to list/sell the items for me, I will generously compensate that person with a percentage of the sales.
Any other helpful suggestions are welcome.

·3 years agoDepending on what "soon" means with regard to your relocation and whether you want to sell the items before you move or if you want to pack them and relocate them I would agree with @slippinjimmy suggestions. If you are going to try to utilize eBay best to sell the entire lot there are probably auto suppliers out there that will buy the entire lot and then over time sell off the individual pieces. It can take a long time to move some things on eBay.
You could also try posting on a local forum. Not sure where you are located as far as being rural or in a major metro area but it may not be that difficult to find a local buyer that would buy the whole lot, possibly for cash.

My partner and I are wanting to relocate within the next 2 months realistically. House going on the market this month if all goes as planned, and keeping fingers crossed for a quick and easy sale.
I prefer to 'lighten' our load for the move by selling the items - even if that means working out a plan with another eBay seller / mechanic / Alfa enthusiast to either purchase the entire lot OR sell the items for "us" and getting handsomely rewarded for their part in this venture. I have looked up many items on eBay to get a 'feel' for the value and it's impressive to consider the opportunity, especially when I have quite a selection of NEW OEM parts/items that are not even available on eBay or even through other Alfa parts houses.
Yes, someone else purchasing the lot for a set price (even with me taking a loss compared to what I paid for it all) is easiest, and I will be willing to 'let it go' for the convenience, but I still would consider the consignment option, hoping that someone would take on the inventory to help make my out-of-state move less overwhelming.

·3 years agoMy suggestion is to find a mechanic who specializes in Alfa repairs, if you can't find them locally then try listing them as a bulk lot on eBay.
Selling auto parts online is fraught with problems, if you could even find someone that was willing to take them on a consignment basis they would want a huge cut for their trouble.
I'd love to own a Spider (but only if it's red!).

Yes, I will reach out to local and statewide Alfa mechanics to see where I can 'take/share' this opportunity, because it is just that to me - an opportunity for someone to benefit from my Alfa items that are hard to find. I may try eBay 'bulk' listing, but you are so correct in that "Selling auto parts online is fraught with problems." ... and the fees associated with eBay have gotten outta line in my opinion - hard to make a fair and reasonably profitable sale when so much of the gain is lost in fees.

Oh, so true my friend - my 1991 Alfa Spider Veloce was the true 'Alfa RED' with tan leather interior - all original and kept in 'time capsule' condition. It was hard to part with, but being 6'5" made the ride uncomfortable. I hope that "she's" doing well and being enjoyed by someone who appreciates 'art on wheels.'
