I just started something new promoted ALL my listings @ 9%. Never before did this.
Planning to keep it going only for a few days 3-5 days.
Will report back here if anything good occurs.
I am not a user of promoted listings at all but want / need sales!

·1 year agoJust an observation, as a long-time vintage collectibles seller, I've learned how to adjust my pricing according to accurate comps that both reflect the changes in my buyer demographics and current economic environment. Your pricing needs a little work to reflect our current situation. Collectors are usually older, and also the first ones to pull back discretionary spending when instability occurs. With that said, you certainly have enough of a cushion in your current pricing to absorb any promotions.
I've also learned to avoid falling into the trap of jumping into PL when sales are slow, especially when I haven't exhausted other efforts to boost sales. That is why PL is marketed to sellers, because that's exactly what its designed to do. 🙂

·1 year agoYou should be aware even though you plan to promote items for a couple of days (EBAY policy can charge you 30 days after your promotion ends). Instead of paying EBAY 9% (you might get more customers by having a sale). Only thing customers care about is cheap price.
You are only charged for items promoted with the general campaign strategy when the promoted item sells within 30 days of a click on your ad. A click includes any interaction with your ad, for example: add to watchlist, add to cart, quick view, or other interactive functionality. This means you only pay when you sell.
