I have been fairly unhappy with ebay in 2024
I sold a coin for $231.78 and received $153.20 into my bank account today. The ebay fee is 10%. It stated the coin was a promoted listing (I listed it in 2021). My satisfaction rate has held at 100% for several years now. Then some crazy buyer in New York City goes nuts because they have a blizzard there, USPS slows down deliveries, which impacts deliveries in TX, and the refund on his coin slows to over a week. The guy claims he never received his refund and writes I am a crook. Since two weeks passed, I asked ebay to step in and they did nothing. (apparantly they agreed with the guy from NYC even though his claims were false and complete lies. So, my rating drops from 100% to 98.3%. ebay customer service has declined significantly. They are now almost impossible to reach whereas I used to get a friendly and helpful person (I think in the Phillipines). Now, it is a mix of U.S. and foreign service, but poor compared to last year and previous years.

·2 years agoDo you mean this one?
eBay fees have not been that low (10%) for years. For most categories, including coins, the fee is "13.25% on total amount of the sale up to $7,500", plus a per-order fee of $0.40 (for this amount of payment). The total amount of the sale includes sales tax that the buyer was charged, which is an unknown amount at this point.
In addition to this, there could be an International Payment fee (1.6%) and/or a below-standard-seller fee of 6% (if that applies to your account), as well as whatever promoted listing rate you set it as. eBay would also deduct the cost of the shipping label (if you paid for that with pending/available funds) and there could also be other fees related to other sales, which would also have been deducted from your payout. Without more information, it's impossible to give you a more detailed response.
Now, on a completely unrelated issue:
What do you mean "Then..." ??? Your feedback rating is at 98.3% because of a negative feedback you received between 6 months to a year ago, for a completely different, unrelated, transaction up to 6 months earlier, that was not related to the one above.
The negative will be removed from the feedback calculation when it is more than 12 months old. It's too late to complain or do anything about that negative feedback.

·2 years agoThe seller is in Texas.
The buyer is in NYC.
The coin was shipped on time, but delivery was delayed by blizzards in Texas.
The coin arrived late.
The buyer opened a Not Received Claim.
Since the coin had not been received , eBay refunded the buyer, taking the money from the seller.
The seller has me confused since a refund would have been swift and automatic. If the buyer did not receive a refund, that would mean that eBay turned down his Claim.
If the buyer won the Claim it would be because the coin had not been delivered.

·2 years agoThanks for the Cliff's Notes version,
If this is all true, a simple call to the appeals department will fix this easy peasy. If I were the OP I'd be equally fairly unhappy with blizzards too.

·2 years agoI'm, still trying to figure out how a blizzard in New York slowed down deliveries in Texas.
And how that slowed down the refund?

·2 years agoWhat do you mean in the reply to the feedback?
"You received your coin back"
Was it returned to the buyer?

·2 years agoOh, come on, eBay customer service has been terrible for a decade. And I say that as someone who lives in NYC where women roam freely.
