I had problems with an auction item I was selling
Hello,
A few days ago I listed a Citizens Band radio amplifier on eBay, but they removed my listing.
The amplifier was a Skeleton 150 CB Linear Amplifier.
I listed it in the category "Ham Radio Amplifiers".
I see that other sellers are selling similar amplifiers without any problems.
Someone must have reported my listing, and eBay removed it.
What can I do about this?
this is the photo of the amplifier

OP1 year agoWhat if I call eBay customer service and ask them?

·1 year agoThat is not likely to help. Perhaps if you answered the question I asked about the capabilities of the item, we could give better advice, but as it stands I would recommend not trying to sell it on eBay.

OP1 year agoThank you for replying.
The strange thing is that I received a message from a buyer saying that I listed it in the wrong category, and that if I list it in the amateur radio category for 10-meter use only, it would be okay.
This is what they said:
"Typical, if you don't list it in the amateur radio category and only specify 10-meter use, it should be okay."

·1 year agoIf by “only specifyâ€, that means lying by omission about what it is capable of, that would be a very bad idea, especially since it was taken down once. If that’s accurate and it was miscategorized before, that might be fine.

OP1 year agoSo, what should I do? Should I relist it or not?

·1 year agoProbably I'm not qualified to reply here, since I no longer sell, but, once you've been taken down, you're on the radar so to speak. So no, I wouldn't risk it.

·1 year agoJust to point out an example, I improperly listed an item with an obvious error in the listing that triggered the eBay bot software to take it down maybe 1-2 days after it was live. No problem, fixed it. Relisted, modeling the listing after other sellers who properly listed ... taken down quickly, like within 15 minutes.
Waited a year. Relisted (again properly, according to the rules), and it was taken down quickly.
That's just one data point, but my experience is that once you have an item flagged for violating a policy, it seems that the eBay bots are coded to presume you are now being deceptive to get around the policy, and they are merciless.

OP1 year agoHello,
Thank you for your reply. A buyer reported the listing, and eBay removed it. eBay said I could appeal, but I didn't. A customer then emailed me suggesting I relist it in a different category, but I didn't believe him, so I'm asking you for advice.

·1 year agoI don't know the answer to the question I asked, but generally speaking I would not recommend relisting something that was taken down.

·1 year agoIf it operates in both CB and HAM frequencies it cannot be listed. You need to familiarize yourself with this policy.
"Similar" does not mean "exact."
As far as what you can do - take it to a flea market to flip.
