I'm not sure why this confuses you. Ebay processes payouts in the dead of night. Whenever you have yours set up to send out.
Today is the 1st, which is the day they charge for a Store fee. If you had your payment schedule set up for daily, then your payment went out before they charged you for the store. It will all work out. It will just be deducted from your next sales amount that is of an amount to cover it.
The store billing and payment transfers are asynchronous events. Their order need not be related.
That said, many of us see our sales mass during only a few hours of each day, and our disbursements may be influenced by when they occur. Because of this the relationship between disbursement and billing may appear to repeat a pattern,
I don't think it's on purpose but it's usually whatever is most inconvenient for you or seems to make no sense. The wonder of AI...

AI is sure getting blamed for a lot of things it has nothing to do with on the threads. Charging of store fees would be a program Ebay has set to run at the beginning of the month so that everyone with a store is accurately charged. That is NOT the same thing as AI.
Ebay pays you right before they bill you so they can get their money right back.

Well yes and no. They process payouts per the schedule the seller has selected during the wee hours of that schedule day. Store fees are charged on the 1st of the month, usually during what most consider to be the working day.
If a seller has their payout schedule to be daily, then they are going to run into this every month. Those that have alternate schedules like weekly, biweekly or monthly will only rarely have the issue.
I see people bring this up a lot, but I don't really get it why it's seen as a problem. I don't know that the OP sees it as a problem (seems they're just calling the timing kind of odd), but others have called it out as a problem.
Payouts are always early AM.
New fees are applied throughout the day - whether it's transaction fees from a sale, or monthly store fees which are billed later in the day. The fees hit when they hit and are unrelated to the early AM payout schedule.
What real difference does it make? Are sellers concerned they will spend the payout immediately and not have the will power to leave the money available to cover their store fee if they don't make many sales? If so that seems more like a problem with balancing one's finances than anything else. Generally anybody paying a monthly store fee is selling enough to cover that fee and should be able to manage their expenses.
I'm being serious - trying to understand why it's seen as an issue. To reiterate, I'm not saying the OP sees it as a problem. He happened to start a thread on the topic so I'm expanding on the discussion. 🙂

I get the same thing every month. They send a payout in the morning then in the afternoon I get a note telling me my bank account will be charged $X on a particular day. HOWEVER if I have monies coming in before that date after that note has been sent then I get a new note with a lower amount and a day or 2 later post date.
There is no action required on my part so it is not actually a "bill" so much as a notice that I am about to be charged.
I just ignore it. It all straightens itself out in a few days.

·1 year agoEven with daily payouts ebay has never once debited my bank account, at least not since 2022 which was as far as I can go back.
Is this really an issue that people are running into?

I think some people (not the OP) just look for something to complain about.

·1 year agoBut it isn't odd. It happens all the time. Stores are billed the first day of a new month. Usually during the working day.
Payouts are process in the wee hours of the morning. This enables the payouts to be processed faster and arrive to the sellers much quicker.

·1 year agoThere are times when payouts are sent before subscription fees are taken.
IF that happens - eBay will charge your bank account for anything more than is available in your eBay balance.
