I can't update phone number
I'm trying to reactivate my seller account. I stopped selling 3 years ago and now I have a different phone number. I also see I can't use paypal, but before I can set up the new system for payment (as a seller) I need to get past the page where a seller creates a draft of an item for sale and confirms the phone number.
I changed my phone number in my account setting, but the pop-up page where the draft of the new listing asks for you to confirm the phone number is still using my old phone number. I got through to the help line (texted with someone in India), who assured me that my phone number is updated and all I need to do is create a seller account, but I already have a seller account and the phone-confirmation-pop-up has my old phone listed so it's impossible for me to proceed past this point.
Here's my question: Does it take eBay several days to update new information for accounts? I've spent a few hours on this but I'm curious to know if I just need to let it sit for a few days and come back so eBay can update their system files. Thoughts?

·3 years agoDid you provide a mobile number or a landline? I've seen posts from sellers reporting issues trying to use a landline. No idea if that's a factor here but thought it was worth mentioning.

·3 years agoWhenever I've changed something like that, it changes right away as far as ME seeing it, but programming wise it's certainly possible that those changes aren't accessible to other features asap. As an IT person/former programmer, it is also possible that that function is using a different field to access the phone number.
I would also, double check that there isn't mulitple places to change it b/c I know when I moved a few years ago, there were 5 or 6 different addresses I had to change within Ebay. I'd give it a day or two.
As usual, it sounds like foreign CSR didn't understand your question.
