I can't unenroll from International Shipping! Can someone help?
I tried to unenroll from this International Shipping enrollment hijacking by going to my shipping preferences and there was no way to unenroll. I didn't see a way to turn it off. It just says "enrolled". Can someone help? What a pain in the **bleep**.

·9 months agoDo you not want to sell internationally? You can stop that under your "Shipping Preferences" at your account level (found in the drop down menu under your name, top left). You can exclude locations on that page.
To "opt out" of international shipping through ebay eIS (ebay international shipping) you also have to do that under your shipping preferences at your account level.
If you just want to opt out of the eIS, I would reconsider that because of the various opinions others have mentioned here.
Good luck to you.

·9 months agoGo over to the .ca forum - there's a guy there that can't turn it back on. Maybe you guys can change places.

·9 months agocan't imagine why you would not utilize this program...probably the most seller-friendly alternative ebay has come up with lately...

·9 months agoEIS is great, it's a domestic sale basically to eBay, and then they handle it all from there, much like eBay is the one selling internationally. Any return or problem belongs to eBay, they even get the item if it comes back since they "bought it" from you when you used EIS. It's the perfect sale.
But to your question, there is an opt out button as mentioned

·9 months agoThere's an 'opt out' on the far right (you may have to reduce screen to 90 or 80% to see it)..BUT!!
There is absolutely NO reason to do this.
EIS you ship to a US location (usually Illinois)
you KEEP the sale once received in Illinois NO MATTER WHAT (no returns, no refunds to YOU)

·9 months agoSo, I am a bit confused here. Does this mean that we as the Seller are only responsible for the cost to ship to Illinois? Ebay covers the rest to ship it to wherever internationally?

·9 months agoYes. Ebay handles charging the buyer for the international shipping cost, etc.
grann-4629
·9 months agoNo, your buyer pays for everything, including the rip-off double shipping charge. That's why many Canadians, including me, don't buy from our US neighbours.
Great program for lazy sellers who really don't care it their item doesn't make it to the buyer as long as it makes it to eBay's 'hub'.
Not such a good thing for buyers ...

·9 months agoCounterpoint - without EIS it's simply too risky for US sellers to ship internationally. Lost packages, customs delays, scam buyers... it all adds up to a big NOPE.
If the shipping costs too much, then just don't buy it. No reason to call us "lazy" just because you don't understand the other side of things.

·9 months agoThey are 'lazy' because they don't want to visit their local postal outlet, fill out a little form and drop their item in the bin just to save their buyer a whole bunch of money. This is the way we used to do it when people actually went outside.
Btw, of course this does not apply to all sellers ... just the lazy ones 😎😎
ETA: wrt the risk to US sellers who don't use eIS, how was this risk mitigated during the first 30 years of eBay before this program came into effect? Was is less risky then, or ...
I believe eBay's intent with this program is simply to make more money as they collect fees on the extraordinary shipping charges associated with the program.

·9 months agoI'm someone who was shipping internationally before most sellers were - that includes platforms I sold on before starting here. Never used ebay's 'program' (whatever it was prior to this) because shipping overseas was so easy - I shipped anywhere and everywhere. Then came covid with everything so borked up I had to stop.
It has not improved with various whiplash political 'decisions', so now I use eIS except for Canada.
Since I know what I'm doing, I'm not seeing that as a bad decision.

·9 months agoReally? "They are 'lazy' because they don't want to visit their local postal outlet, fill out a little form and drop their item in the bin just to save their buyer a whole bunch of money."
Are you shipping in this century? You can do your labels, fill in your little form, and order your pick up from the USPS on their website from your computer. It's not lazy; it's convenient and every small business owner should be doing that instead of wasting time, energy and gas going to the post office and waiting in a line. That's just not cost efficient for a small business owner.

·9 months agoYes. Not only that, your responsibility is complete once it reaches the hub. Customer doesn’t get it? It’s broken? It’s not what they thought they ordered? Remorse return? All completely covered by eBay.
