I am unable to end a listing with a policy violation
Summary: zanmart is experiencing difficulties ending a listing on eBay that has an intellectual property policy violation. Despite multiple attempts using different devices and platforms, they encounter blank pages or error messages. Several participants suggested checking inactive listings or contacting eBay support, noting that listings with violations might be inaccessible for editing or deletion. Others shared similar experiences, mentioning that issues typically resolve after a few months, or by contacting a customer service representative through eBay's messaging system. Some advised that listings with sold items cannot be deleted, and the issue is a known glitch.
I have tried numerous times for the past 3 days to end a listing with an intellectual property policy violation. I go to click on "end listing", it takes me to the next page and the page is either blank or I get an error message and to try again. I have tried to end the listing on the eBay app as well as my laptop, 2 desktops and tried different browsers and get the same messages. Can anyone please help or advise? Thank you.

·2 days agoI had a "similar" issue recently regarding the returns policy. Twenty listings were inactivated until I corrected the returns accepted. It had something to do with Europe and importing to the USA.
No matter what I did, I could not revise or remove the listings from my ended list.
So, I just gave up and created new listings.
After a while (75 days??) the inactive listings began to drop off. They are now gone.

·2 days agoVIOLATION means it was 'removed' so it won't be there for you to 'end'. When it hits the 'inactive' you can't do much but relist, which you can't because it has a Violation. Simply do not relist and ignore it in your IA list.

·2 days agoIs it in your "unsold"? If it is, you have to tag the box to the left of it, and then tap delete at the top of the page. See if that works.

·2 days agoThis is an ongoing glitch and ebay knows about it.
The only way to get it off your dashboard or out of your inactive list is to appeal and win or get a CSR to open a ticket.
I have learned to just live with it. They go away after about 3 months on their own.

OP2 days agoHow did you get a CSR? The only way I can see to contact someone is AI and they are no help at all. Is there no longer a number you can call?
robot-hands
·2 days agoThere is no direct number to call since the pandemic. You have to use the infuriating chatbot to prompt a CSR to call you.

·2 days agoDoes this work?
Go to your active listings: https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active
In the search box, put in a word or words that will pull up that listing.
Tick the box for the item
Tap on "actions" above the listing(s)
In the dropdown, click on "end listings"

OP2 days agoWhen I search the active listing, it does not appear. I am only able to see the listing if I go into my messages where I'm told about the violation and then I click on "review your listing".

OP2 days agoI tried to search it in my active listings, but it never appears there.

·2 days agoIt will be in inactive.
zanmart
OP2 days agoYes, I just saw it was in my inactive folder and warns me I have a policy violation and to resolve it. But when I go there and it gives me the option to end the listing, it gives me an error.

·2 days agoIt will eventually go away. I got tired of calling every single time the AI flagged something so I just learned to live with it.
We don't really want ebay jacking around with code anymore than is necessary....it usually just makes stuff worse.

If it's on the inactive page/folder/list then it's been ended already. Because it had a policy violation it was ended by ebay before they notified you. No one but you can 'see' it.
As I remember it - it's been a few years since we've had something removed by ebay - for some reason in 'locked' on the inactive list and can't be deleted or even edited. In 90 days it will drop off.
I think? you can click on the title and open it to copy the text, but can't open it in an edit page.

OP2 days agoThe listing had multiple quantities and I sold all of them. Is that why it's not showing up in my active listings?
