They didn't say YOU were a scammer. They stated that if this person is asking you to text them outside of the Ebay platform and you appear to be a new seller, it may very well be a scammer trying to scam YOU. Do not engage or communicate outside of the Ebay platform. In all honesty, I would just sell that truck for cash locally. You are risking a lot by trying to sell it on Ebay because you are inexperienced seller. I would hate to see you or any one be taken by these thieves that are flooding the the E commerce platforms. Please re consider and take the advice of people who genuinely care and are giving good advice.
as ckimodog said. Don't sell on e-bay. If for example someone were to buy it and pay for shipping, lets say 1,000 miles away, and you arrange to ship it, they could very easily say it was not as described. YOU would then need to arrange for return shipping at YOUR expense. As someone who used to work for a defense contractor and had to arrange shipping Hummers to Army and National Guard facilities back in the 1990's. I guarantee you it is not cheap.
Sale locally thru a newspaper ad or maybe a auto selling magazine. You would be better off.

·3 years agoIf they give you a cell phone number to call, make sure you do not respond to that because it is probably a scammer. Keep all correspondence in ebay.
