·1 week agoJust be aware that being a relatively new seller you will be a target for some scammers, especially selling the higher priced items that you sell.

·1 week agoYou are new to selling and you will find out, as with this claim, that buyers sometimes embellish the truth (in other words, they lie) about the reason for return. If they give a reason as "don't like, doesn't fit, changed mind", those are remorse returns and a seller can refuse them or accept them with the buyer paying for the return postage. So, in order to be able to return the item and have the seller pay for the return shipping, they will often make up a reason so that the seller has to accept the return. Just like your buyer said the item is "poor quality" when it isn't, they will often say an item is damaged, doesn't work, or some other excuse, when there is actually nothing wrong with the item.
Just accept the return and when you get the item back, resell it. (Never refund before you get the item back.)
Just note that most buyers are honest and transactions go off without a hitch. There is always the occasional buyer out there who doesn't want to play fairly. You just deal with them and move on.

·1 week ago · EditedWhen an eBay buyer files a "not as described" dispute, a seller's options are pretty limited. You can:
have them return it for a refund at your expense
give them a refund without returning the item
fight the dispute and ask eBay to decide the outcome
But if the seller asks eBay to step in, the overwhelming consensus is that eBay will rule in the buyer's favor, and
you will lose the money
you will lose the item
you will lose the fees you paid to eBay
you will get a damaging defect for "failure to resolve a case"
Before you ask - yes, we all know it is unfair. But eBay did not see what you actually shipped, and eBay did not see what the buyer actually received. The pictures in your listing prove nothing about what you actually shipped. And since eBay offers the buyer a Money Back Guarantee, eBay will take the buyer's word over yours - because it is in eBay's financial interest to do so. That is one of the unfortunate realities of eBay.

·1 week agoHave them return for a refund. It really is the only option on eBay. Whether you accept returns or not, it can be forced upon you. Best to just have them send it back and refund. There's always the chance they never send the item back and then you don't have to refund. It is your best option as annoying as it is.

OP1 week agoWow that’s so sad thanks, if I accept the return am I also getting charged for the eBay commission?

·1 week ago@alex2-24 No. Once you get the item back and refund you will get the FVF fees back. But note that you will have to pay shipping for the return.
