How to submit proof of signature in INR case?
I thought this would be easy! I am stumped as to how to upload signature confirmation in an INR case. I opened the link for the refund request and did "update tracking to the buyer" but there was no way (that I could see) to submit the signature confirmation information. I have a pdf file from the USPS showing the signature and other delivery information.
Where am I going wrong?
Thanks, Mike

OP9 months agoThanks @broto_64 .
I have not found anyway (yet) to update the INR request except to "update tracking to the seller" in my initial response. The field for the tracking number was greyed out when I did this, but the greyed-out number was correct. It also said "tracking number cannot be updated after the item is delivered."
Is it possible that this is not yet a "case?" Some eBay documentation that I have read states that the buyer and seller are given 3 days to resolve things themselves.

·9 months agoNo, that’s just a chance that was made a while ago, but since many of us don’t deal with INR cases regularly, not everyone is aware of or remembers exactly what it looks like now.
Just do what you described, and when you see that grayed out tracking, just click the submit button at the bottom, so it records that you have confirmed the tracking.

Thanks for the additional inputs.
If I do an update to the request, the page shows 3 actions (refund buyer, message buyer, update tracking) and a "Continue" button. The next screen has a "Submit" button. Then it goes back to the previous page.

·9 months agoThat’s normal. You can send a message to the customer letting them know it shows delivered and suggesting that they check with anyone else at their address who might have signed for it, which isn’t strictly necessary, just good customer service. Beyond that, just wait for now.

Basically choose the tracking option and then keep hitting the go button until there's no more go buttons to hit. If that's what you've already done, you're good to go as far as the case closing in your favor. Good customer service to choose the message buyer option next and suggest they double check the shipping address they entered at checkout, ask their mailman, ask their housemates, etc.
...I'm like 90% sure at this point my knee-jerk reaction to the next INR I get is gonna be "sweet! now I can get screenshots!" 🙃

·9 months agoIf you want to make sure that you uploaded the tracking to the case, the top should say "You updated tracking details" and you can check your History by expanding the window and looking for the status that says the same thing.

·9 months agoIt is possible the folks at ebay actually updated the code so the tracking is automatically in the case especially when the label was purchased through ebay? I try to keep abreast of changes as they happen but I'm not perfect, it is possible my methods are old fashioned but I do know it is important to go through any open case and always check and verify and resolve if needed anything from within that needs it (which usually isn't much, but one little thing getting overlooked could easily mean the difference between winning and losing).

·9 months agoNever had to do that for an INR.
Ebay has just seen that signature requirement is on the tracking and it was delivered.
Never needed to prove signature.

So if the tracking says "signed" is that enough? In years past I know that you had to actually upload the signature. And Google AI says something about clicking on "Ask eBay to step in" and then you will find an option to upload the signature. Is this right? Maybe I have to wait for that option to appear?

·9 months agoI believe that the tracking should show "signed for by ....."

OP9 months agoYes @albertabrightalberta , that's just what it says. Mike
