How to Remove Negative Feedback???
I received a negative feedback from a non-paying bidder. I have contacted eBay several times and they will not remove it. The just say they reviewed it but will not remove it. The buyer kept telling me he would pay and never did and then left me negative feedback on day 90 so by time I saw it, I could not reciprocate the favor. So frustrating. Any suggestions to help remove it????? Who and how to contact? Thank you.

·1 year agoYou could not have reciprocated the favor anyway. Sellers have been unable to leave negative or neutral ratings for buyers since May 20, 2008. How fortunate you are to have never had occasion to notice this before now.
But eBay does have a process for seeking a feedback revision; a seller can send the buyer a feedback revision request up to 30 days after the feedback was left. That gives an opportunity for the two parties to work something out to appease the buyer.
As other posters have noted, eBay has a process for closing out unpaid transactions; if you cancel the transaction based on 'Buyer hasn't paid," then the buyer cannot leave feedback and any feedback they have already left will be removed. But that cancellation has to be done at least 4 days after the transaction but withni 30 days, so you seriously missed that deadline. You should not have listened to the buyer's empty promises about payment. Here is the Help page about what to do if a buyer doesn't pay:

That neg was left over 6 months ago; why are you bringing it up now?

·1 year agoHere are some steps that might help:
Contact eBay again: Ask to speak with a supervisor or request an escalation. Sometimes going up the chain helps. https://community.ebay.com/t5/Ask-a-Mentor/Box/
Use the Feedback Revision Request: If you haven't tried it yet, this process might work, especially if the buyer promised to pay and didn't.
Provide evidence: Gather all your messages with the buyer and share them with eBay. Show them you did everything you could to resolve the issue.
Try social media: Posting politely on eBay's Twitter or Facebook might get a quicker response from their team.
Good luck—hope this helps!"

Another AI response that is not helpful. Feedback is a persons experience and in many cases is warranted.

·1 year agoIt wasn't AI though, But as per my personal opinion removing negative feedback without the support of buyer is not possible, you should ask your buyer to edit (if he/she can) Otherwise the ebay support is available for you and they can bette help.

You're right, this cannot possibly be AI.

·1 year agoIt's TOO OLD. No seller can request a FB that old to be revised, changed or removed. It way outside the window.

·1 year agoThe feedback is TOO OLD. There is nothing that can be done.

·1 year agoI do not do auctions, so perhaps there is a rule I know nothing about.
But I am surprised to read that a buyer can leave negative feedback in the absence of an actual purchase and a completed financial transaction.
Is this indeed possible? In 25 years of selling here I've not had that experience.
Thank you.

OP1 year agoAgree. That’s what I have been telling eBay but they never respond. That’s why it is so frustrating. Thank you.

·1 year agoIf the seller didn't cancel for non-payment, the buyer is able to leave feedback. It sounds like @bhturnow didn't cancel after 4 days without payment.

·1 year agoThank you so much! I had no idea that such a loophole existed. Why am I not surprised?
For all the world, it seems that eBay's relationship with sellers is indeed a most peculiar one.
mam98031
·1 year agoIt isn't a "loophole", it is part of the policy. If the payment is electronically made, Ebay doesn't know about it unless the seller tells them. There is no requirement to file for an unpaid item by the seller. Not sure how this is getting turned around to be an Ebay issue away from the seller in which simply didn't handle the situation in a timely manner.
With that said, their can be some very good reasons why the OP was not able to take care of this in a timely manner.
mam98031
·1 year agoThey were telling you the truth. The system doesn't allow them to correct feedback older than 60 days. Or so I've been told. They are pretty consistent about this.
There is no words on the negative you have on your account. I won't bother anyone, well except for you. But potential buyers will be fine.

OP1 year agoThank you. Just frustrating. My feedback was 94% for a year because of his feedback. Sellers should have more rights than buyers who fail to pay. Be well.
mam98031
·1 year agoSellers do, you simply did not ask Ebay until well after the 60 day period. This isn't on Ebay, it is on you for not tracking your account more frequently. With that said, since there is no comment on the feedback, Ebay likely would not have removed it anyway.
If the item was unpaid, Ebay should have removed the feedback but since they didn't automatically, there may be something else not shared about this transaction. With that said, more info really isn't needed. The FB is way too old for anything to be done with it no matter what information you share.
Sorry!

You may still be able to REPLY to the buyer's neg against you.
Check out your feedback and see if there's a Reply link.
That option does time out after awhile, but it may still be there for you.
Keep it professional, factual, and courteous.

OP1 year agoThank you. Sadly that time has past. Thank you though. Just so frustrating. Be well.

·1 year agoOn top of what everyone already said, the statute of limitations on removing a feedback is 30 days I believe. So if you get a feedback you don’t like, you have only 30 days to do whatever you want to try to have it removed. Otherwise it’s there set in stone.

·1 year agoIf you cancelled with the reason that buyer did not pay the feedback would have been removed or may have been blocked from leaving feedback at all is my understanding.
momtoabeautifuldaughter
·1 year agoYou couldn't have reciprocated even on Day 1.
Sellers cannot leave anything less than positive feedback for a buyer, that includes also positive wording
inhawaii
·1 year agoDid you cancel the sale for reason: Buyer did not pay?
If so, ebay is supposed to remove any negative feedback.
In my opinion, it wont affect your sales but If it really bothers you, I would keep trying to get it removed.
Also, even if you did catch it earlier, you could not "reciprocate the favor" as sellers can not leave buyers negative feedback.
The negative feedback has already aged off your feedback percentage since it was 12 months ago that you received it. So it doesn't affect your feedback score anymore.
If that buyer didn't pay why didn't you cancel the transaction after 4 days for nonpayment ? If you had done that your buyer would've been able to give you feedback.
What sort of reciprocation are you suggesting? Buyers can't be given negative feedback, positive feedbacks with a negative comments are against eBays Feedback policy.
In answer to your question, no your negative feedback won't be removed especially after this much time has passed.

·1 year agoYou couldn't 'reciprocate' anyway as Sellers cannot leave Buyers Negative Feedback (it's not even available for you to do so and if you spew Negative Verbiage- you can get it 'removed' and 'reprimanded' from ebay).
Neg to Buyers is NOT allowed.
Go to Ebay on Facebook, the reps there are the best. Phone call reps have no power to do anything.
