Hi, I wanted to make sure I am doing this correctly. I sold a couple items as a presale. I messaged the buyer that I will immediately send them the item as soon as I receive it. I wanted to know if I have to do anything else. I assume you don't print the shipping label till I receive the product. Since the label is only good for so long. My concern is that it says I need to ship by a certain time. I don't want it to go against me since I don't have the item yet. How do I prevent it from going against me, or am I overexaggerating? I greatly appreciate your input.

I see a few problems with your listings which are going to cause you problems with the transaction.
Your handling time must be wrong because it is a short window to receiving the item. Also I don't see in your listing where it says how long until you expect to have the item. There are rules for this. You don't get to take all the time you need. There is a set time in which you must receive and ship the product. This should be reflected in the description of your listing AND your handling time.
Presale listings must guarantee that the item will be shipped within 40 business days of purchase
The date the item will be available to ship must be clearly stated in the listing
Listings must clearly indicate in the title and description that the item is being offered for presale
Handling time details should include the time it will take the seller to acquire the item, in addition to the time it will take the seller to deliver the package to the shipping carrier

·4 days agoNormally, EBAY requires you to "ship item" when sale is made. You will get in trouble with EBAY for not shipping "sold items" on time.
You should "cancel these orders" and refund the customer. Create a new "preorder listing" (YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SHIP ITEM WITHIN 40 DAYS) which maximum allowable time for preorders. If you are not sure when you will receive the merchandise it is better to wait before creating a "preorder" listing.

You should have thought about that before you decided to venture down this path. You are concerned about yourself, but have no concern for the buyer(s) who spent a $1,000 with you and you getting their product when you promised it. Oh wait, you didn't follow policy and tell them a date. You just said, "will ship as soon as it's received." Geeze.
I hope your buyers see your post and they cancel their orders. If you don't refund their money, they need to contact eBay for you not following policy. You need to reach out those buyers and give them a date. If you don't meet that date, you need to cancel for the out of stock reason and refund them.
This type of stuff makes me angry. Buyers work hard for their money. They deserve to have a seller who knows what they are doing, especially when spending that kind of money with them. 😤
