one thing is you have to start from a new listing, you can not use sell similar or edit a existing listing with variations.
As a buyer I love variations when used properly. Someone selling 1/4" bolts in 10 different lengths and 3 different quantities is a perfect place for a variation listing.
As a buyer I hate when they are used improperly like they only have one of each item and most of the variations are out of stock. Or one of the variations is something lower priced for clickbait.
When you are creating you listing, scroll down & edit "variation", then set up your attributes and click continue. Based upon what attributes you selected you can then list the items individually with their own pictures and price. When you do it correctly, buyers will get a drop down menu to select the item and see the photo of said item, see the price and how many of each you have available for sale.
Without more info, I cant help you with the attribute to select, you need to play around with it on your own. I've done this with Hallmark ornaments, amiibos and some other items over the past. Takes a bit of practice to get the way you want it to look. Currently I don't have a listing up, but if you want I can relist one to show you how it looks to see if that is what you are asking about
It's called VARIATIONS and there are MANY categories that you CANNOT use Variations. It will be available if the category you are trying to sell in, allows it (you will see it)
If you do, the items should be the same price, like T-shirts' with the only Variance is Size/Color etc.
