How to add Packaging or Handling fee to a listing
I've looked at several threads on how to add a fee to a listing when using the USPS calculated cost. None of what is suggested is available either in the app or on the webversion of ebay for me. I obviously am missing something. Can some one please help?

·8 months agoThey are trying to add it to their shipping cost, and when using calculated (not flat) shipping as the OP does, handling cost is the only way to do that.
It's definitely a valid option to add the amount to item price. A lot of sellers don't like adding to item price for various reasons like the fact they accept offers and don't want to have to factor that in to their negotiations, or they accept buyers remorse returns and they don't have to refund original ship+handling on those returns.
In the OP's case, they run auctions and start them at 99c hoping to draw in more buyers, so adding handling cost to item price would work against what they're trying to accomplish.

·8 months agoHi @old_scharck . Handling cost is not available on the basic listing tool. On the web you'll see a link on the top right to switch to the business listing tool. That's the first step.
The next step is to select calculated shipping.
On the shipping section of the listing form you'll see an option on the right side with a menu of shipping options. Click on that and toggle the handling cost slider to blue. That will make the option appear going forward.

OP8 months agoThank you, that is the piece of information that none of the other postings and replies had mentioned. It has been a while since I’ve sold stuff on eBay on a regular basis

·8 months agoTo do so first select "Calculated shipping" and then it will require you to add atleast one shipping service option. Pick which one you want to use and click "Save". Once back to the listing page, under that shipping section towards the top right is a button that says "See Shipping Options", click on that. In that drop down will be a button for "Handling Cost", turn it on. It will populate a new section underneath your chosen shipping service you have selected where you can input a handling cost.
This only works with calculated, and will not work with fixed rate or free shipping.

·8 months agoWhen using calculated shipping on eBay, you have the option to include a handling fee within the shipping settings. Select calculated shipping and check under options.
However, if you are offering fixed prices or free shipping, adding a handling fee is not possible.
