I've had the experience of pressing the heart icon on listings without bothering to go in and read the listing (after all, it takes a tap, a swipe, and another tap to read a description that I'm conditioned to think will be AI generated). I've even accidentally pressed the heart icon from time to time.
When you search for an item, each listing has a photo with a heart symbol. If you click on the heart you can add to your watch list without actually viewing the item.

·4 months agoHere's what might happen...I'm in line waiting for something so I go on my iPhone looking at items in eBay.
I will clink on something and later when I get home I might go on the computer to actually look at it.

·4 months agoI can click View Listings and can watch every one of your items without ever looking at your listings.
All buyer has to do is click the heart on your images to watch an item.

·4 months agoI often do that when shopping. I click on the heart to add it to my watch list, then come back later to get a closer look.
