How does a Seller indicate to eBay that the Item Specifics attached to a specific UPC are INCORRECT!
Today, I posted an item and apparently, I included the UPC number of the item. (I actually started the listing about a month ago on my website which lists the item on ebay for me using WP Lister Pro for eBay). It took me forever to get my pictures together hence the reason for it taking so long. All the other information was previously placed in the listing a month ago. I only added the photos and video today. Anyway, the problem I am having is that I have to edit any listings that I wish to provide video's for directly on the eBay site after my website submits them. When I did that today, I noticed that eBay CHANGED the listing that WP Lister Pro submitted and EXCHANGED information that I specified for about 8 Item Specifics with information that it obtained from only God knows where. I tried to change the first incorrect Item Specific content and received a pop-up message that something didn't match (even before I was able to change it). I was given the option to either Keep the UPC code or Remove it. I opted to click the X to close the pop-up window. I then proceeded to provide the ACCURATE Item Specific information and then clicked the Revise It option to save the listing. A message was displayed that the item was updated. I then went and reviewed the item and NONE of the corrected Item Specific Information that I just submitted was present, instead, the bogus incorrect information that I can only imagine eBay pulled from a bad source (maybe the first person that created a listing with that UPC). In this particular case, the information is SO INCORRECT that it actually could have a detrimental effect on whether someone TRUST the listing or not and whether or not anyone buys the item. I would appreciate removing the Inaccurate information and quite frankly, I do not need ebay CHANGING my information. Honestly, I AM THE EXPERT on the ITEM and I DO NOT WANT the information I submit about an item second guessed or altered by some algorithm that obviously doesn't know JACK about the item!
Here are a couple of the inaccuracies being forced upon my listing:
Item specific item, my REAL value (=> turned into) eBay forced Inaccurate value
1. Material: Diecast Metal => Plastic
2. Feature: (I provided the REAL values) => (eBay included on its own "Live Steam")
The item produces Smoke when liquid smoke is poured into the smoke stack and the smoke capability is turned on. It is a model train that is 1/64th the size of a real one. It DOES NOT have a real Boiler and it does not produce "Live Steam". Live Steam is a feature that might possibly be on much larger, outdoor operated model trains such as the one's modelers can sit on and ride. There are No Indoor operated model trains with built-in operational "Live Steam". I could not get this particular specific removed even though I unchecked it, eBay put it back when I saved the item.
Several other incorrect Item Specifics are still applied to the listing even though I removed them but the 2 I just mentioned are key factors to identifying the item. This item happens to be in great shape and comes in its original packaging. Written right on the outside of the package are the statements that about 5 of the items (85% or more) of this item is made of DIECAST METAL. Other manufacturers make versions that have far more plastic in them than metal. This one has FAR MORE metal than plastic and that is a key selling point of the item. I selected Diecast as one of the features. It was removed and replaced with the word Plastic, which is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!
If there is some way to correct this problem please let me know. If there is a specific place to provide written feedback to eBay about the exact UPC number of 0023922480705, then please provide it to them. They can review my listing which includes photos of the actual item and the box itself and they can clearly see that the information they are forcing on my item based on the UPC code, is TOTALLY INCORRECT!
I also couldn't find any place on eBay where I could simply EMAIL some feedback or indicate a BUG in the site's programming. And, due to the early hour of the morning that I am doing this, no Chat or Phone agents are available. I searched help for issues related to Item Specifics and no articles were displayed stating anything about Item Specifics errors or inaccurate information related to UPC numbers.
