How do you "provide original shipping receipt" when purchased through ebay.
Summary: deerecamp faced an 'item not received' claim despite having FedEx tracking evidence and was asked for an original postal receipt, which was challenging to obtain through eBay. albertabrightalberta suggested verifying the tracking number and providing comments on delivery details. deerecamp resolved the issue after contacting a representative, who closed the case in their favor. Other participants discussed ways to handle and store shipping receipts, suggesting saving labels as PDFs or screenshots. The overall consensus was to ensure proper tracking and documentation to avoid such complications.
Buyer claimed "item not received". Purchased original Fedex label through ebay. Fedex tracking shows a photo of the item in front of the buyers house (even with the house number in the background). Google maps shows the same hosue on street view. Sp I challenged it and now received the following message.... The tracking information you provided when sending the item confirms that the item was delivered, but it doesn’t show the specific location.
We've placed the case on hold for 2 days for you to provide the original postal receipt showing the buyer's delivery address. Please note that we need the original postal receipt and not a screenshot of the shipping company website showing the item was delivered.
We ask that you take a picture of the receipt using your mobile device or digital camera and send it to us by using the document uploader link below.....
So my question is, how do I get an original postal receipt when purchased through ebay???

·3 weeks agoI would think a shot of the photo from Fedex showing delivery would be sufficient. Isn't that WHY they take the delivery photos in the first place?

·3 weeks agoEvery time I print a label from eBay it is emailed to me with the pdf attached (label and receipt). I then throw it in a folder with all the others. I typically delete the ones that are 2 month's old or older at some point.

·3 weeks agoThere are things a seller should do immediately when they see that a package is not moving like it should. A seller should do this even if the buyer has not reached out to them with a delivery issue or filed and INR.
First go to USPS and call up the tracking number.
https://tools.usps.com/tracking/
Once you call up the information, now sign up for the UPDATES you can get via Email. This act alone for some reason will shake a package loose from time to time. IDK why, but it has been known to happen.
After you take care of this. Now go and file for a TRACE on the package. You can file these after your package is delayed more than 7 days.
https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm
If your buyer has NOT contacted you about a late delivery, do NOT contact them. Gather the info and try to get the package moving and delivered. Do not create a problem where none currently exists. You will likely pay a price for doing that. However if your buyer has reached out to you, be transparent and honest with them. Tell them what you see on the tracking and that you have filed for a Trace on the package. It will typically take USPS 48-72 hours to reach out with an update. Assure the buyer that you will keep them updated as you gather information. This will go a long way to keep the buyer calm.

·3 weeks agoTo answer the title of your thread "How do I provide original shipping receipt'.....when you print a label, it gives you 2 halves of a typical 8x11 paper; 1/2 is the label, the other half is the receipt. You should be keeping these anyway, for your records, tax purposes etc.

OP3 weeks ago · EditedThanks, I may have to start doing that. I was just surprised I couldn't reprint a receipt. But I found out you cannot reprint the receipt when the package has been delivered.

·3 weeks ago@deerecamp but you can see the way it shipped (Fedex ground' for example) and the tracking number- and you can print a 'packing slip' which will show who it went to, what was purchased, what was paid (including shipping and taxes) and once printed, you can add that 'shipping type' (again, Fedex Ground for example) and the Tracking Number- so you would have almost everything (except what you paid for the label)

OP3 weeks ago · EditedYeah, I was just concerned after reading other posts that some ebayers claims were being denied because ebay was no longer accepting screenshots in some cases. Wanted to make sure I did it right the first time. It all good now. Thanks.

·3 weeks agoDid you check your download folder? When I print a label from eBay it downloads it to my download folder before opening it so I can print it.

·3 weeks agoAnother option is to save the label as a pdf. I've been doing that for several years. They come in handy.

OP3 weeks agoFollow up. Just had a great experience once I was able to talk to a human being. After spending about an hour and a half trying to get a copy of the postal receipt purchased through ebay, I finally requested a call back. When the rep called, I explained what I was looking for and he reveiwed the case and said there was no need for that and closed the case in my favor. Just sharing my experience so that it might help others.

·3 weeks agoYou need to enter the Fedex tracking number into the open case.
That is all you need to do but you need to be sure you have done it.

OP3 weeks agoIt was. When I purchase labels through ebay it does it automatically for me.

·3 weeks agoThe words Item Not Received case do not appear in your post. If your buyer did not file an INR case, you should have encouraged them to do so.
Respond to the case by entering or else confirming the pre-populated tracking number. A scan showing Delivered lets you keep the payment.
None of these things you have done should be necessary.
a) Challenging
b) Needing a receipt
c) Viewing Google maps
How do I get an original postal receipt when purchased through eBay?
Maybe a screen shot from one of these pages will do.

·3 weeks agoIf the buyer opened INR (item not received), you must respond to the case with the tracking number. Sometimes the tracking number is preloaded. Just make sure it's in the case.
I also add a comment to the comment section with "According to Fedex, tracking number (fill in the blank) was delivered on (date) at (time)."
If necessary (in your case), I'd even comment that "the delivery photo shown on the Fedex website shows the package on the step with the house number shown."
The case should close in your favor.

OP3 weeks agoThanks for the message, I pretty much did everything as you stated but then I received the message from ebay that they needed the original postal receipt. All good now. I talked with a rep and he handled it immediately.
