How do I tell eBay these are NOT duplicate listings?
I sell vintage and antique buttons... mostly to collectors. Right now I have a fairly large collection of antique china calico buttons to list for sale. There are many with the same pattern, but in a different size and/or a different color. I state both the color and the size in my titles AND in my descriptions. AND the photos are different.
I just listed this button:
Antique China Calico Button ~ Brown on White ~ Plants Pattern 258 ~ under 5/8"
Trying to list THIS button but ebay will not let me saying it's a duplicate listing:
Antique China Calico Button ~ Pink on White ~ Plants Pattern 258 ~ 9/16"
OK... seems I misunderstood what eBays message was saying. I thot it said it was a duplicate listing and that was a no-no and so I thot the listing did not complete. Apparently that message is actually just a warning? The pink on white button is listed.
So now my question is. Do I get some sort of negative mark from eBay when the Duplicate Listing warning comes up? Because I have a few more just like this to go.

·4 months ago@daffydiva Very simple. Re-organize your title. Something like, Pink on White Antique China Calico Button, Plants Pattern 258, 9/16 Inch will be enough to let you list it.
Sometimes I have multiples of a single SKU, but because the condition varies, I do seperate listings. I get around it by slightly adjusting the title.

So even tho my two titles WERE already different they weren't different enough?
Color was different... size was different. How different is enough different? 🤔
That warning didn't give me some sort of black mark did it??? (I hate black marks)

·4 months agoI do not know what you mean by black marks, but if you mean did it put you on some type of eBay naughty list or hurt your account, then no, it didn't. 😀
How different is enough different? You'll know when it actually lists. eBay does not disclose exactly what they look at. I know from my experience I can re-arrange the title, and that is sufficent. I used to do simply add #1 and #2 at the end of the titles (and kept the rest of the wording the same) and that worked, but I've not tried it in a while. I kind of felt like that was going to catch up to me later on, so I started re-arranging the order of things.
