How do I become a top rated seller?
I’ve always had an eye for items and held on so long. This month just in spare time I’m over $1300 is this average or better?

·1 year agoThere must to have been a change in the TRS designation. I only have 63 sales for the past year and I have been rated TRS for several months. It could be that the higher the dollar amount of error free sales the requirement for total items sold is reduced a little?
Since I have not had a sale all month I am scheduled to be reduced back to Above Standard.

·2 years agoShip within one day of purchase...whether sick...snow..raining all day...or prefer to stay in bed for the day.
Free shipping even if its a big item and cost more than you realize for shipping.
Accept returns no matter what the buyer states.
But hey, you get a 10 % discount on fees.
As far as TRS....I ignore that when looking to buy....I never look at TRS of sellers....a lot of them don't even have a 100 % feedback rating.

·2 years agoAs noted in the other post (and on the linked policy page), none of those are required for TRS status. Free shipping is not required for TR-Plus; only free returns.

You may not but buyers do. Since becoming a TRS my sales have increased and continue to do so.

·2 years agoWhat about those TRS sellers with less than a 100% feedback.
And "my sales have increased"...promoted?...listing every day.?..over 2000+ items for sale?...these are factors that increase sales as well as TRS...and what would one consider increased sales?....probably 10+ sales a day is considered good....although I have those who buy 40 or 50 items at a time...these buyers are considered a one sale for the day for me.

·2 years agoYou are correct...you can have a 98.0 feedback rating and still be a TRS. LOL.

You need to accept returns and pay for them. Also offer free shipping and ship within 1 day of purchase. So far, you don't accept returns and you charge for shipping. Top seller status won't happen until you change your return policy and shipping option.

To be top rated seller you don't need to offer free returns or have 1 day shipping, thats for TRS plus.
To be top rated all you need to do is sell 100 items and earn $1000 in 12 months.
I'm a TRS seller I don't accept returns and I have a 3 day handling time.

Thanks Diva...you see so many different posts here concerning. I appreciate your info. This is probably going to sound negative, but I could care less if I was a top rated seller or not. I was TRS until the pandemic hit and my items were being shipped all over the country until they finally got the buyer. eBay removed my TRS due to the USPS short comings. That's how I lost my TRS. Many of us did.
I take pride in my shop and give good service. I have repeat customers as well. I just don't understand why people are so caught up in the TRS thing. Just be good to your customers, do the right thing and do the best you can do. JMO. Again...many thanks.

I do not think people are so caught up with TRS status. It is recognition of the very best ebay has to offer the buyer. I did not start selling again to become a TRS. It just happened 7 weeks after i started selling. I started selling again because i enjoy what i do. TRS is just something that comes with the quality products & service i provided to my customers. I see nothing wrong with a seller wanting to achieve TRS status.

I agree with you as far as a seller not needing to be TRS to be good.
I did not say you said it was wrong. I said i see nothing wrong with the OP wanting to be a TRS.

·2 years agoNobody LOSES their TRS status for 'late deliveries' as long as you 'shipped out' within your stated handling time....so where did you get that from?

·2 years agoI am only "above standard"....I accept returns and sell a lot+ $1000. in 12 months and have free domestic shipping....and no "dings" in anything(returns, claims, etc.) So what am I doing wrong?
My rating is 62% due to little tracking of items.
I think the seller is looking for that "TRS" that shows up on each selling item and wants that 10 % fee discount.
And I do notice with some of "TRS" sellers next to their item they do not even have a 100% feedback .
A shame feedback means nothing these days.

·1 year agoI am sorry but your advice is just simply wrong. They do not need to accept returns lol I don't accept returns at all and I am a top rated seller. All you need to do is respond to customers quickly and ship out the items fast. Most people do not realize that Customer Service is a huge part of being successful in a business and I don't even own a business lol. My 90 day total is $32,919 with 286 orders with 2 negative feedback (one for delayed shipping I wish buyers realized we have no control over shipping) and the other for a defective toy straight from the factory brand new.

·2 years agoYou're well on your way to TRS status. As noted on the page linked in the other post, in addition to having at least $1000 in sales in the past 12 months, you also have to have at least 100 transactions with US buyers, and be a member for at least 90 days.
