How could I sell two when the quantity is 0?
Hi, Friday Feb. 28th I sold my last set of towels, and in the quantity section it said 0. Imagine my surprise when just a bit ago I saw that I had sold two sets to the same person! I did not relist. How does this happen and what do I do since I have to cancel this sale. Thank you

OP6 months agoI sold the last one on the 27th, buyer asked to cancel so I relisted. It sold on the 28th to a 0 balance again. Now two were sold when I had a 0 balance on the towels. Maybe that is less confusing.

You sold 2 on Feb 1.
You sold 1 on Feb 27.
Buyer on Feb 27 asked to cancel the sale. So you relisted with item 277760407163. When you relisted, you forgot to change the quantity to 1 and you relisted with the original quantity of 3.

You sold 1 on Feb 28. When that sold, you did not notice you had a qty of 2 remaining. And those last 2 sold on March 1.
Your screenshot showing 2 (0 available) and 1 (0 available) is based on today's quantities. Yesterday the bottom transaction showed 1 (2 available) but you missed it. Mistakes happen.

OP6 months agoIt says 0 when sold on the 27th, so if I relisted it it would be one, which was sold on the 28th? There was never two left to be sold

OP6 months agoYes, The customer asked to cancel the sale on the 27th and I relisted and on the 28th I sold it to a 0 balance

·6 months agoIf the original listing had more than one available that is the quantity used when relisting.

·6 months agoThis is correct and if OP wants to test this, they can select "relist" on the sale from today and see that it's prefilled with the original quantity of 3. (Then they should delete the draft that's generated so they don't accidentally list again.)

·6 months agoIt’s an issue that has caught many sellers by surprise. It’s counterintuitive that the relist function doesn’t relist the way it was when it was ended, but instead the way it was originally listed (in regards to the quantity).

·6 months agoThis is by design and eBay knows this will happen. They post a "TIP" within their instructions for Multi-quantity listings and listings with variations to advise users of this. They suggest if you use Good Til Canceled it will not happen.
