How can you make sense of "VIEWS" when after a month, they display 30 day stats???????????????
You have to Literally document from Day one and then use a numerical base 30 chart to figure out whether you got any new views, and then that may or may not be correct because we don't know if eBay is calculating this stuff based on, up to the second, minute, hour after an item has been listed for over a month. Why in the world would they change from the continuous count up to this new system that is pretty much Useless.

·2 years agoI find the 30 day view count to be more useful in keeping track of what inventory to purge. If something falls below the average of views across all my listings, it's time to discount it or donate.

OP2 years agoI still don't understand how you can make anything of it, as I said earlier I was looking at 176 before I went to bed the next morning it was 125, and never changed all day, then this morning it is at 114, And steady, I did notice that at what looks like the Stroke of Mid Night from the 176 change GTC occurred "30 day relist", something happens where no view occur, most likely that is when eBay hides your item for a period of time, hoping you will promote your listing, well it ain't happening here, cause I don't like the High Fees I pay for sells already, so if I had to pay more fees I would need to raise my price even Higher and buyers certainly don't like that, so I guess in summary just about everything on eBay has gone in the direction of the rest of the World, Everything is a Gag, Gimmick, Con or a Scam.

·2 years agoI have an item with no views but 9 watchers. 2 days ago it said 64 views. I assume it's another eBay glitch

·2 years agoI've honestly never paid any attention to views because probably 90% or more of my stuff has fewer than 10 views when it sells.

The other day I listed an item and by the end of the day, I had 2 views. Great! The next day the views disappeared and I were back to zero. I only thought the watchers disappeared, not the views. Something is squirrely!

OP2 years agoYeah, that was my main tool to gauge interest, "The Original Views", the watchers were always secondary cause unless they are really High Number Count I view those as just people who have something similar, your real watchers are bidding and a bidder hardly ever watches.

I'm a night owl and am usually up until 1:30 am Pacific which is 4:30 am Eastern (ignoring Europe and Australasia).
So as I go to bed someone is getting up.
Or finishing their night shift.

·2 years agoThat's one place to look if you want to set a custom date range. You're limited to viewing a 90 day window. You can download a report.
For a quick reference of a single listing, on your active listings page, click the number of views. That generates a pop-up. Default count is past 30 days, but you can change the selection on the top right to show up to the last 2 years, depending how long the listing's been live.
Defaulting to the 30 day view on the active listings page is intended to show most recent data so sellers can identify underperforming listings, as opposed to showing lifetime views which wouldn't help much if there are no recent views.
When eBay made the change several sellers asked for the ability to choose the default but eBay didn't agree to that. Default is 30 days and you can click in to see beyond that.

OP2 years agoNo eBay should have programed where Bot views never counted in the first place, just buyers looking, if we can put a Probe on Mars, eBay can omit Bot views and make life so much easier for a Seller.

OP2 years agoYeah, but they just couldn't count beyond 30 days, it's a Shame, my complaint is yesterday I was looking at one of my items with 176 views last night, today it has 125 views, so what does a Sane person make of this, well I don't know what to make of it, did 51 people/bots look at it 30 days ago? Was there 0 views 30 days ago and 125 views of people/bots over night, There's just no frame of reference. You have No idea what is going on.

Views are up for 30 days.
Apparently about 50 of those Views were on the first day of listing.
When Day 31 came, those first Views disappeared.
More to the point.
176 people saw your item-- and didn't buy it.
So what is the real problem?
Price?
Description?
Pictures?
Flooded market?
As things stand when ever you have an opportunity to send an offer, You really don't know if your sending it to a bot or a person
Umm. no.
Since eBay started eliminating bot views, you do know that you are probably sending to a person.
Just a person who didn't buy the item when they Viewed it.
