How can I determine the date and time of a bid on one of my listings?

A first bidder wants to cancel their bid on one of my items. I understand that after 24 hours, it is up to the seller whether to honor that request. How can I determine the date and time of a bid on one of my listings? Many thanks!

Always keep in mind that this buyer who wants his bid cancelled, should he win the auction will probably not pay for the item or return it as INAD.

If you are going to avoid having to go through a hassle and have to relist this item, it may be in your interest to make his bid go away.

^^^ My thought exactly. On such a special item, @dunnmr6y70, you might just be best served to disappear that bid.

The buyer can retract their bid. There is no "24 hour rule" for bid retractions.

There is a rule that the buyer has to retract the bid within 1 hour, but only if the auction is ending within 12 hours or less. That is not the case for your guitar auction listing, it still has 4 days to go. Send the buyer these instructions, and tell them they can retract their bid:

I would always prefer to have the bidder retract his bid than to have the seller cancel it for him. A bid retraction (by the bidder himself) goes on the bidder's record; a bid cancellation (by the seller) does not. If I'm ever in a situation where I'm curious about a bidder's record, I go to his Feedback page (desktop view, not mobile) and select the Left for Others tab, which shows the number of bid retractions he's made over the past 12 months.

It's been years since I ran auctions, more years since I had a buyer ask me to cancel their bid.

I agree that the best thing is to direct the bidder to the cancellation process that they can do on their own.

One little tweak, I would send the bidder the details of how to cancel, give them perhaps up to one day (depending on how close to the end this is happening) and if they haven't cancelled do it for them.

It's been awhile since I did auctions, but I would guess that you still should be able to click on the bids number in the listing and it'll take you to the bid history of the listing.
