Hidden item because of seller policy violation can't be fixed

I ended up putting a manunfacturer fitment link in an item listing and eBay flagged the listing as offering to sell outside of eBay. I corrected the listing removing the link, item still hidden and flagged as violating seller policy. I've appealed and still hidden. Here's the pickle, I can't end listing or do anything with it as the three option tab below the listing are greyed out.
It's crazy that they can pick up that a link was added so fast, yet can't remove it just as fast when the link has been removed. The appeal process i imagine is just a black hole like the rest of eBay's customer service dept. I'll admit that I was wrong. I didn't know a link that I was hoping to save me some grief from buyers asking if it fits, would become such a pain.
What am I supposed to do at this point? I'm traveling for work next week 2-3 days so I guess seller away time starts NOW because I have no idea if my listing will ever make it out of eBay jail

·2 weeks agojust relist it without the fitment link. consider the original listing as a defect and carry on.
this is providing there is no other issue that puts you at risk of having the listing flagged again.
in reality the system "should" have detected the link in your original listing and red flagged you before it even went live.
anything with HTTP is a no-no
when you are creating a listing and are unsure if it has HTTP just search for it before going live.

OP2 weeks agoI edited listing minutes after getting the violation notice, removing the link and no cigar. I've appealed and have been met with silence from eBay. I cannot edit the listing or do anything with it, not even end it
This listing was active prior to me adding the link, but was getting a lot of fitment questions that a link would have answered for buyers.
The item in question is expensive and expensive to ship so expensive to get wrong. I get where eBay is coming from, but there needs to be some thought process into what a link really directs to.

·2 weeks agono links of any kind are allowed, years and years ago it was no issue, but they have clamped down.

OP2 weeks agoThat they have, but it appears their resolve option doesn't work in my case.
I can't edit it any further, despite the link being removed
I can't delete the item
I can't end the listing
I've gotten nowhere on appeal, not even an email. I was kind of hoping that the removing the link would work, but nothing.

·2 weeks agoI do not know how long it has been since you appealed it but it generally takes 48 hours or so to get a response,
if they already denied the appeal then nothing else you can do (that I am aware of). I would just relist it sans the link.
maybe state in the listing for interested buyers to check the fitment on the product website. most people never even bother to read a description but it might prevent a couple questions.....
Again this is provided the product is ok to list for sale on ebay otherwise.
just my 2 cents, if it is something that could get you in trouble then of course do not do it. I do not work for ebay, just another seller like you. I don't "think" it is a violation to relist it properly. If the current listing is flagged nobody can see it or buy it. If it gets restored you will get a message from ebay stating as such.
It will say your appeal has been granted.
