Help Ebay is auto filling Country of Origin when I don't know the information
I found out Ebay is auto filing in country of origin when most of the time I do not know where the item was made, since most of what I sell is vintage. An example is a rosary I recently listed has no markings on it. Ebay auto filled country of origin as Italy. A pair of vintage clip on earrings that have no markings was auto filled as United States when it is probably made in another country that could have been China, Hong Kong, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, US, who knows.
Do I state in the listing I don't know what the country of origin is that Ebay is using AI to autofill it, or what? I can't leave it blank, or write in unknown. Or just leave it alone and fill it in when I actually know?

·5 months agoIt is only a issue if you have international sales. If you leave it blank who knows what will happen to your order if its sent internationally or to the eSI Hub. I suppose it could be liquidated if ebay elects to if there is no COO

·5 months ago@suzysemporium I was initially frustrated when they started doing this. You can stop it by no longer offering international shipping, whether directly or through eIS. If you want to continue to sell internationally, I would not sweat it. If you cannot figure out where something was made, how do you expect a buyer or a custom's offical? They are not going to be able to do it. If it makes you feel better, make your best educated guess. Do not bring doubt into listing as will make you very vunerable to an INAD. Either leave it as eBay has it, or make your best guess.
For me, I rarely filled in the COO unless it was a selling point. eBay completely screwed up most of my listings. I am slowly going through and correcting anything obvious or anything where the product actually states the country of manufacture. Some of my listings are lots where the items all come from different countries. In those cases, I just select one or whichever country is most common in the lot. If I have an item with parts made in multiple countries, I select the country that manufactured most of the parts.
