HELP. Accused of selling item and not sending it forward.

Question

I have never sold or brought anything on Ebay but some one has put a item for sale on my account.

The item was brought in the USA. The customer said they did not received the item so Ebay refunded their money and now they are asking me to refund them the cost.

Trying to get through to customer service is imposable , for the last 2 days I have spoken to 7diffrent persons for more than 2hrs each day and still they will not help in dealing with the problem that it was not my self that did this transaction.

Has any one ever had this problem and can they guide me in what else to do before I take legal action.

'put a sale on my account'...so payment went into your account?...funds have to go to someone's account...correct?...someone on file for the payment.

'eBay refunds their money'...which comes out of theaccount on file...money is withdraw where it went in.

If you have no banking on file then money can't be withdraw.

Can't see a problem here.

If you don't buy or sell or have a banking account on file you shouldn't worry.

Sounds like your account has been has been hacked and you better change your passwords. I wouldn't expect much help from ebay. They view it as your problem to safeguard your account. I don't know what legal action you intend, but it's very unlikely to go anywhere and just add to your headaches and cost you even more $. If ebay insists you reimburse them, you will do that or your account will get suspended. And why are you on ebay if you've never purchased or sold anything?

Your story makes no sense. Come back with more info -or- as @bonjourami suggested, go to the UK board.
