Have you sold to this person in the past?
I've recently Had the pleasure of having this ebay buyer as a customer. He bought 3 items( semi-precious) stones and necklace. All at "best offer" pricing. At delivery customer claims the stones are glass and threatened with sending to a lab to have authenticated.
When I asked for the lab certificates he said he wasnt going to spend the money. I have a feeling he will threaten me with a bad review and at this time of the year with mothers day around the corner it would kill me as a business owner.
Has anyone sold to this person before?

·2 years agoIt doesn't really matter whether thousands of sellers have sold to this buyer before.
What matters is that he is not happy with his purchase. Your best action would be to tell him to open an item not as described case.
ALL eBay buyers and sellers need to read the Money Back Guarantee for buyers, preferably BEFORE starting an eBay career. If you've not done that, it would be a good idea.

·2 years agoHis Feedback Left for Others shows similar complaints in the past. He buys and sells in that area. Rather than debate the authenticity with him (he's not going to suddenly have some forehead-slapping moment of insight and realize that you're right and he's wrong), just send the usual businesslike response:
Dear Glasshol--
no, wait...
Dear Sir,
We're sorry that you are not happy with your purchase. You can return it for a full refund.
Regards,
You
Nothing more needs to be said. He's not going to a lab; that was just bluster. Keep it businesslike. Repeat the same response if necessary if he returns with another rant.

What can ebay do then?

·2 years agoYou can always appeal after he wins and the case is closed, for whatever good that does..not.

·2 years ago@alvic_9574Just tell them to open a Not as Described return. Once you get them back, you can issue a refund. Tell them you believe they are authentic, but don't want any buyer to be unhappy with their purchase. They may just be looking for you to either issue a partial refund, or a complete refund. You can then relist them.
As @ckimodog mentioned, you can't post details about other users and identify them.

OP2 years agoThanks for your reply, I was able to find out some of this buyers tendencies. My question is what happens when I receive what he returned and he swapped out my stones for fakes.
What can ebay do at that point.?

No. You cannot name and shame on the community discussion forum. The moderators will remove it.
