Have you ever had the same item appear more than one time in your eBay store?
Ebay has listed one of my items and is showing it two times in my store with the same item number. Really strange. I removed the listing so that I can't sell it two times, but why in the world do they do that?

·4 months agoI've noticed that many times in my store, but after seeing the item numbers were the same, I didn't worry about it. Only a true duplicate with two different item numbers would alarm me.

To the point where every month or so I put my listings in alphabetical order and review them, deleting the duplicates.
The last time I did this about 1% of my 1500+ listings were duplicates.
On another account, I was removing all my deadstock book listings and discovered that about 20% of the books on my shelves were no longer listed, and less than 10% of my sewing patterns were still listed.

·4 months agoActually I’ll give some benefit to the doubt and ask if the OP saw this phenomenon sometime last night. Because Thursday nights (maintenance time) is like a full moon for eBay. Stranger things have happened then.
All last night I was revising and listing new items. Every single time the system showed that I added “fabric type” as a variation (but I didn’t) and was unable to show that I already had my “size” variation enabled. I just continued listing and revising ignoring those areas and submitted my listing/changes. After that, checking my live listing I see that the eBay never implemented the phantom “fabric type” into my listing like the revision page showed. Like I said, Thursday nights.

·4 months agoWhen I look at my store, the order of items changes each time I visit it.
Sometimes the order of items changes between pages and I see listings which had been on the previous page repeated.
They are the same listing and not a problem.

Sounds like a glitch, but in the Matrix because I’ve never heard nor seen a duplicate listing with the same item number.
Others have said they’ve seen it caused from user error. But those wouldn’t be the same as what you described because they wouldn’t have the same item number as you claim yours did.

·4 months agoi used to think that this was an ebay glitch until I set up all my ebay notifications to go to a dedicated email address so I could search them later.
Every one I have found since then turns out to have been my doing one way or the other. The duplicate would usually have ended up being listed in the middle of a bulk listing action of some sort.
If this was some sort of actual ebay glitch then the listings would either be back to back or at totally random times when you were not even listing at all.

One will show up with "sponsored" out beside it and one won't.

·4 months agoI thought eBay stopped doing this. Offer separate exposures for the promoted listing placement as well as its organic placement. I used to love when this happened to my listings. But I never see it anymore because as I said I thought eBay stopped doing this.

·4 months agoSame here. It has happened on two different items in the last two weeks. Someone E mailed me about the same listing showing right beside each other. I happened to catch the other one. Glitch maybe ?

I was going to look for myself but wouldn't you know, the listing was removed already.
That's like saying you saw a ghost.
