Has anyone else experienced no offer notifications in their ebay messages?
Summary: imac7065 raises a concern about a long-standing issue with eBay, where they are not receiving offer notifications, despite filing numerous complaints. This glitch has led to significant financial loss for imac7065 as they missed out on many offers. Other participants suggest potential troubleshooting steps and empathize with the frustration, with some experiencing similar issues. imac7065 shares an update that eBay intends to phase out certain notifications, further intensifying their frustration. Suggestions to file complaints and check technical forums are provided, highlighting a widespread dissatisfaction with eBay's handling of the situation.
I've been dealing with what I was told was a bug / glitch since roughly April of this year..... either I will get drastically reduced notifications of offers ... or none at all...
I discovered this was happening in late May, when a customer messaged me asking why I hadn't responded to their offer.... I never got their offer. I called into ebay who told me to "check the offers page under marketing"... which is where I discovered I had more than 20 pending offers I received no notification of. For the next few weeks I checked that page daily... and watched as my "accepted offer" metric SHOT UP OVER 4500%!!! This means because I wasn't being notified of these offers... I lost out on between 3 and 10 thousand dollars in sales in just a few weeks. (based on sales made via offer over the 30 days following discovery.... IE I can only know about the previous 30 days.. I have no idea how long the bug has existed)
As I am writing this, I have filed over 30 complaints, updated a ticket (that IT has closed 5 times without resolution) and been told that part of this is 'working as intended".... IE they don't want to send us offer notifications anymore (but I still get counter offer sent and offer sent notifications... make that make sense lol)
I'm bringing this here because I have received literally zero notifications of offers in my ebay messages since August 19th... yet have had well over 200 offers on my items since that date. I have dozens and dozens of "counter offer sent" notifications.. but agents will tell me on the phone "I see no record of any offer on this item, that's so strange" ... to which they will update my ticket.. just to have IT say nothing is wrong.
Is this happening to anyone else? Or am I just that lucky? lol

·yesterday at 6:05 PM · EditedI have the same issue. It just started and the original poster made it clear that Ebay said they are doing this on purpose (phasing those messages out).
This is a terrible decision on Ebay's part and one that end user's should be able to make for themselves.

Nope because I don't accept offers.

OP1 week agoUPDATE (9-4-2026).......
I just spoke to ebay about this and got this reply from the IT Department (paraphrased)...
"we are focused on phasing out offer communication to streamline messages for member to member communication, you will find your normal offer notifications in your email and push notifications"
To anyone that sells more than 5 items a month ... THIS IS INFURIATING.....
1) I have to seek out my offer notifications now... a chore I did not have bfore
2) my ebay email is a dumping ground (as most high volume sellers have) where I get thousands of messages daily from lots of platforms.... finding these offers would be like looking for a needle in a 100 foot tall haystack
3) For anyone that doesn't know about this (since there is no announcement or notification) they are missing countless offers on their items.... multiply that by millions of sellers.... as I previously said on here I missed an unknown amount of offers in the spring that cost me thousands personally
For anyone that wants these notifications FILE A COMPLAINT AS I DID... THEY WILL ONLY LISTEN IF ENOUGH PEOPLE MAKE NOISE (trust me lol)
PS on this.... I would have no idea there was an IT response if I wasn't calling in about an unrelated issue and checked for an update on this.... ebay is HORRIBLE about following up on literally anything

·1 week agoThis is a real issue. Of course it is impossible to report it using eBay AI so it is being ignored by the technical people at eBay. If you get offers via your email or run your cursor over the bell icon at the top right corner of the page you should be able to see any offers that are no longer appearing in your messages. Ebay would like you to use the offer button you can find under Marketing in your seller hub as they would much rather you have to do 4 things rather than 1 thing to do business. Hopefully they will undo this piece of garbage change in the same way they undid the hyperlink disabling disaster but I would not hold your breath.

·2 weeks agoHi, I'm not having this issue - it does sound like a programming bug since you get messages for counteroffers but not initial offers. This is a long shot, but I had an idea that you could try turning the offer updates setting off and then back on again to see if it resets whatever is malfunctioning. I found a setting for Push Notifications-Offer Updates in the ebay iphone app. Go to My Ebay, Settings, Push Notifications, Selling, Offer Updates. You could turn offer updates off, wait a little while, then turn it on again. I have no idea if this controls the offer messages. In my previous career as an I.T. analyst, many things could be fixed by turning them off and then reactivating. I also found this link about push notifications: https://www.ebay.com/help/account/changing-account-settings/notifications?id=4203

OP2 weeks agoappreciate your link but that's for emails and push notifications... not ebay messages.... the bug would be server side

·2 weeks agoIt's been going on for months. They ignore the small sellers. I've complained numerous times. Nothing is done.

OP2 weeks agoUpdate on this... it's now the 27th.. I have not received an offer notification in my ebay messages since the 19th.. this is beyond frustrating. CAN ANYONE HELP?

·1 week agoNo one here has any power to fix the issue you are having.
imac7065
OP1 week agothe IT department of ebay does... they did this 100% on purpose and made no announcement on it... forcing people like myself to lose thousands of dollars in offers before figuring it out on on our own...
They arrogantly assumed everyone that does business on ebay also checks their email hourly .... even in cases like mine where i have to have a "dead" email to send all my spam from selling platforms to.

·2 weeks agoYou may try going to the Technical Forum and looking to see if there are any recent posts on this so you can gather some information. If you don't see anything, then post there in order to hopefully get some attention to the matter.

·2 weeks agoWhen was the last time you manually cleared your browsing and cache history? Don't know but maybe something in there is preventing the notification.

OP2 weeks ago · Editedwhat on earth would that have to do with getting ebay messages? I know it's something they generically tell you in tech support settings (all of them) but what would my settings (on multiple lap tops and phones) have to do with sending messages over the ebay server that I have literally no access to? lol
To clarify I am still getting the email notifications... this is about ebay in site messaging... getting email notifications is useless as I receive 10's it not 100's of thousands of messages into that email every day.. it's where all my selling mail is dumped.. it would be like searching for needles in haystacks lol. Many sellers (I would say most) do this when selling in high volume as it would flood their personal email otherwise)
