It's been a postal holiday for a little while now, since 2021. I never knew this was a thing, but a postal carrier stopped by our warehouse today to say that even though the post office is closed, they'll come pick up our outgoing packages for us (we're one of, if not the biggest shippers through that particular post office location).

OP1 month agoOnly if your post office actually opens on a Saturday. A lot don't these days.

OP1 month agoThey probably have exceptions for high volume shippers.

·1 month agoAlso like other holidays (and Sundays), packages continue to move through distribution centers and airplanes, trucks, etc.

·1 month agoYeah, I imagine picking up our packages today helps them a lot, since they won't then have extra packages on Monday to process.
