hacked account
Someone got into my account and made egift card purchases. They then used ebay messaging to have the Seller send the cards to their email address. Two transactions for about $500. I contacted ebay, they blocked the account and said I will get an email within 24 hours and then call back and that I don't need to take further action at this time . It has been 48 hours and still no email. Will they handle everything with my bank and get my money back or am I just patiently waiting for them to give me the bad news. Meanwhile my store is blocked so I am losing money there too.

·8 months agoWhat method did you use to contact eBay? I'm worried that you ended up calling a number from the internet and that nothing was actually done.
This is the dedicated number for Hacked Accounts: 1-866-961-9253
You can call directly for those issues (but only those issues, that number cannot be used for any other issues).

·8 months agoI'd go to my bank ASAP. If you were hacked you are more exposed then you may believe. Plus remember, once you go to your bank for any reason, eBay is out of the picture so don't wait around for them to take care of you at all.
You could file an item not received if shipped to another email not on file, however, no way I'm waiting around for that refund to process if my account was hacked. You take care of you.

·8 months agoNot sure if I really understand what your problem is??? But if someone hacked into your EBAY account and made an illegal purchase using "your credit card", why not report this fraud to your credit card company and get payment reversed? Or if they hacked into your "bank account", I would report it to your bank.
