Good News Sellers! ebay Standard Envelope has added eligible categories
eBay standard envelope is eBay Label’s low-cost shipping service for small, lightweight items and we are excited to announce you can now ship more items with this service!
Beginning November 1, 2023, in addition to Trading Cards, Coins & Currency, Stamps and Postcards, the following items are eligible:
Patches
Stickers & Decals
Greeting Cards
Seeds
eBay standard envelope includes integrated, limited tracking and shipping protection for items weighing up to 3 oz. and a quarter inch thick. Each shipment includes up to $20 of shipment protection on single-item orders, and up to $50 on combined orders – all for about a dollar in shipping costs!
Learn more about the program, including the size and weight limits.
Smart Ship Tip: We recommend using a plain, number 10 envelope. If you need to use a thicker or more rigid envelope to better protect what you’re shipping, check with your local post office to ensure your envelope is flexible enough to meet postal guidelines.
We are continuing to explore additional categories for eBay standard envelope and will provide updates to the community.
As always, thank you for selling on eBay.

·2 years agoI have a large assortment of paper doll greeting cards that I could list so this announcement made me happy. But, they do not fit in a size 10 envelope.

·2 years agoWould they fit in the 6x9 manila type? They may be a bit heavier but those are within regs.

·2 years agoHas anyone notified the USPS about this?
Got to remember the USPS came before eBay...and the USPS makes the rules...not eBay.

·2 years agoThe USPS makes the rules about the specific nature of the contents (outside of the obvious hazmat type rules)? Or the USPS makes the rules about the weight, thickness, measurements, and functionality of tracking?
EBay was limiting the categories. I highly doubt USPS gives a hoot if you are allowed to put a STAMP or a STICKER inside 🙄

·2 years agoThe USPS makes the rules regarding what can be sent in first class letter mail (uniform thickness, no odd-shaped items, envelope dimensions etc.) eBay is the one who makes the rules regarding what categories you can use ESE in.

·2 years agoThis s good news as the only reason I am not TRS is that I sell patches that I ship in a envelope with a stamp. Alas, I sold a patch today, listed under a patch category, and it does not show the option for the standard envelope.

·2 years agoOh, this is excellent news indeed! I have probably a couple hundred assorted breweriana stickers and decals that I've just been sitting on because shipping them Ground Advantage with tracking wasn't cost-effective and I didn't want to lose my TRS for shipping things without tracking.
I'm glad they finally decided to open it up to these categories!
