Gone forever

I have one room in my house where every single thing in this room has been listed on Ebay over the years..Hundreds of these items HAVE COMPLETELY VANISHED from my listings with no way to ever retrieve the original listings. I paid to list these items and they are gone forever. Anyone else?

·1 week agoI really do not think that for myself anyway listings going missing is something being done on purpose because I have plenty of 10 year old plus listings getting no views that are still there but some only a year or so old disappear.

OP5 days agoSame here..I have items repeatedly on automatic relisting for years..it's amazing because many DO eventually sell. It's inexplicable why so many items have been removed.

·1 week agoHave you actually found items in your room that are no longer listed or are you going by the different number of listings showing in your store total versus your active listing total? My numbers don't match and I've read before of others showing a discrepancy between those two numbers.

OP5 days agoEvery single item in my "Ebay Room" has been listed. This is the way I've done it for over 25 years. Once I listed it, it goes in this room. There are so many missing. My total numbers for listings in my site and then in my own listings are different because I am selling duplicates of the same item with subtle title changes.

·1 week agoI completely agree, and it is frustrating. This has actually been happening for quite a while now. Originally, eBay sent email notifications when they ended an item automatically. Lately, they have been deleting listings quietly without any alert or email. I currently have over 500 items that vanished and need to be completely relisted. You are not alone in this.

OP5 days agoYou're in the same boat I am in and it's horrendous. I paid for all those listings for all those missing items. I can't find a reason for them being removed...they're regular items of clothing that have been up for a little while. The worst part is that Ebay has never notified me...

·5 days agoI have 3 large storage units 12X 20 each, I list items, then take them there, as in your situation, I don't take anything there unless listed, wrapped, and protected. Many of them are no longer listed on eBay right now, but if I go to my email, I find them but no longer retrievable, why would I end them on purpose, it's eBay and they actually make it clear they can remove any listing for any reason, even when we are renting space.

·1 week agoYes, I have had this happen many times. It is very frustrating. I feel at the very least ebay should send notifications of it deleting sellers items. Otherwise they just sit, taking up storage space with zero chance of ever selling.

·1 week agoI can see that if it's only a few listings, but it sounds like a whole tranche was just dropped??
At least the entire room with the contents didn't vanish into some vortex, though not sure what else there is to do but just start listing the stuff again. I tend to save photos because yes...I have had listings disappear...but mostly because I list seasonally. Hopefully OP has those photos at any rate.

·5 days agoBecause when using sell similar it is way too easy to click revise item and the original listing disappears when the revision is listed.

"LIBERTY Dress Shirt~16/41cm" The revision history shows that every single thing about the listing was edited just a few days ago. Title, description, pictures, condition and everything else all at one time, which seems odd. This is just an example of why I asked if you are using sell similar to list items.

·1 week agoThere are (paid) 3rd party programs that will back up your listings and photos so you can easily restore them in a situation like this. I've not used any of them because I don't really hve an issue with eBay ending a bunch of listings.

·1 week agoYou can push back if you want about what you should and should not have to do, but I like to live in the real world. Sometimes I have to do things that are unfair or I feel I shouldn't have to do. I put on my big boy pants and I do it, and am normally thankful I did.

OP1 week agoNOT at all. I have several items that are duplicated. That's got nothing to do with it. Simply put, the items are gone, kaput, vanished

·1 week agoOld dead stale listings that have been lingering around for long periods of time without any interest will often be removed from Ebay without notice. That is why it is best to end such stale listings, wait a month, and then relist using sell similar.

OP1 week agoI still have items listed that have been up for five years with automatic relisting and oddly enough, some do eventually get sold so I'm not sure about stale items..Many missing were not up for a super long time...it's frustrating because I already did the work ONCE to get the items listed with photos, descriptions..the whole deal and having to repeat the process all over again..well, it's just not right and those listings were paid for.

Listings really shouldn't be listed for years without being relisted or at least they shouldn't be left unchanged for some long. 5 years straight is an eternity on eBay for an item to be listed.

OP1 week agoI've been doing this for almost 27 years. I like to think I have a little knowledge how things work. Things are NOT unattended...and things are being relisted...this is not really addressing the fact that so many of my items have vanished. At least Ebay could have the integrity to notify me if they're going to remove a Zegna shirt or Liberty of London tie that I had listed for a few years.

·1 week agoI come across a item ever once in a while and wonder why it never sold only to find it is no longer listed. I really hate to spend time inventorying and redoing listings I have already done instead of listing new items but at some point I am going to have to do a systematic inventory

OP1 week agoIf this just happened once or twice, I would not be so confounded or...disgruntled ..I'm talking about a massive amount of listings that have disintegrated into oblivion. I know what you mean about inventory; I have over 1,400 items listed and I should not have to do that work since I've actually PAID for my listings.

I don't worry much about it, since I've not noticed an item in my storage room that isn't shown. If there are a few, I'd have to really search to know which ones. Have you found an item in your room not showing up listed anywhere?

·1 week agoYour post is a bit confusing, but I think you mean you have had "hundreds" of listings vanish, not the actual items themselves.
Have you gone into your Seller Hub under "Listings" and looked under "Unsold and Not Relisted" to see if they are there?

OP1 week agoThe items still exist...the listings do not. I have of course looked under unsold and not relisted. They are NOT there. Vanished forever with no way to retrieve the listings that I paid for.
