Glitch or No Glitch Watcher Count Live vs Watchers Backend.
Perhaps it's nothing. Somebody might explain it. I can't deduct the problem or reasoning.
So.... it's like this. I accidentally watched my own item. Don't ask me how I did it, I don't remember having my mouse in that vicinity when tweaking etc but low and behold I got a reminder of a watched item and it turned out to be my own. What's more I think I had sent myself an offer but I don't think that went through because I didn't see anything about someone sending an offer (I didn't know it was me obviously, and I might be assuming I was the same watcher ).
BUT this prompted me to look at the listing. On the live customer-facing view it said it had 5 watchers. In my active listing that product has only 2 watchers.
I suppose the big question is: Are we missing watcher sales? but could it also be it held on to old watcher counts?

·8 months agoHappens often, the amount of watchers showing in the red panel on a listing varies wildly to what you see when you check in your account, whats even great is when you see send offers on 65 of your listings but theres only 23 elegible to send offers to when you try and do it.
Ebay is hosted in too many data centres all working at different speeds with various verions of info.
Dont forget when you log in you are logging into an interface thats pulling info together from all over the shop to display it to you.

·8 months agoI've clicked on a listing of mine and within minutes it shows up as able to send an offer on. Always thought that was weird

This is due to an annual increase in system activity experienced during this period, which has caused processing delays.

Are you saying the processing couldn't catch up and show the watchers under "Selling Overview"? That is could be flux?
If that is the argument then it is null as the answer. The watchers on customer-facing view remain the same, now some 3 days later, and that count is not reflected in my seller-facing view.
