Glitch! No new views watchers or bids for the past 48hrs on some listings! HELP..
Reached out to ebay earlier today to ask them what gives.
Have some items that posted that were growing strong and bids and watchers climbing until 2 days ago where they just flat lined. Tried to see if any difference on multiple computers same thing.
For a example I have a listing for a Ken Griffey Jr Signed Card framed by upper deck that has been frozen at $6.... for the past 2 days and it ends in about 12 hours. Yes...$6....This is not possible unless there is a big problem with ebay.
That's not even close to the market on that. I reached out to ebay today and they said the glitch will not effect my sales....when it obviously is. I will be losing out a lot. They say they are resolving the issue but I see things just getting worse. Will ebay reimburse seller for the damages caused by this??? Are sellers listings being throttled??? Some kind of hack? Will sellers lose thousands in potential sales??
Any one else experiencing frozen in time listings??
Any help is appreciated.

·3 years agoGlitch? More like the NORM these days on EBAY. Just look at all the threads with NO sales 2 days, 7 days, worst sales ever, etc, etc. It's like EBAY turned the faucet to trickle and slow slow drops.
Also, ALL the "what were you thinking changes", like hiding the DESCRIPTION until clicking show more, hiding the payment, feedback status on your purchase history page, etc, etc.

OP3 years agoYou all are so funny. Blaming the economy on a glitch that ebay has admitted they are going through. Does anyone do they're research? Plenty of sellers on YouTube are talking about it. I guess ebay is a dying platform. Just like Facebook.
Like I said...for views to not change for 48 to 72 hours on multiple listings that are on the first page of that search in not normal...and everyone is saying that's normal..lol. Ok

If I knew the market for an item, I would never list it at a price that was nowhere near it.

OP3 years agoYou do know you attract more bidders and get ranked higher In search when you start auctions lower right?

·3 years agoThat strategy only works for high demand items. For items without high demand, that strategy only attracts bargain hunters.
I found your item easily in search, and apparently so did your original bidder and so did the bargain hunter who only bid $6.16 for it.

Im telling you...Ive had multiple listings with zero activity for almost 3 days while on first page of search for that item. Are you not aware that ebay is experiencing search glitches as well!!??....Check YouTube...lots of sellers are expreineceing it. Check this video out on YouTube..

OP3 years agoThank you all for commenting but I think you all are missing the point. The Ken Griffey Signed card is not really the point. Every card goes for at least 100$....in pretty much any condition....but that's besides the point. I am not a sports fan either.....all I do is check the solds as I'm sure everyone else does....and the solds don't reflect or justify a $6 signed Ken Griffey Jr card AT ALL. lol...Just look it up. Anyway...

I've been on page 1 for that particular genre (WATA graded video games) on a few items since the listings where posted and the views have not changed. That is not possible. If you are getting ranked on page one your views should change every single day...and they are not. I've been on ebay long enough to notice this. I didn't just join ebay yesturday. Ive been using it since 2004. This particular account is a year old. Besides ebay has admitted there is a glitch.

Why would it be a fault of Ebay? Why couldn't it be as simple as buyers interested in that item just aren't around right now. Or there are many buyers when bidding on an auction like to wait until the last few minutes to bid.
Views and watchers don't always = a sale or sales.
They [Ebay] is working on what "glitch"? Where did you read or hear that Ebay guarantees sellers sales? If you were hacked, you should really know that by now? But if you suspect this in the least to be actually true, change your password immediately and report this to Ebay Security.
I often here on the threads when a sellers sales aren't what they think they should be that Ebay must be throttling them. IDK why it must be something Ebay has or hasn't done that causes your sales to decrease. Sometimes it just happens with internet sales. I suppose with more experience this will be something you experience more often.
From looking at the items you have sold over the last 90 days, it doesn't seem to be that far off. Well at least in the number of sales you get per month.

And you asked what 'glitch'?...Just check YouTube. Lots of other sellers are talking about it. Do some research....'but that will come with experience.' Thanks for the passive aggressive reply.

·3 years agoAll that means is the Views aren't being counted. That doesn't mean no one is seeing your listings. The two are NOT the same thing. Every now and again this issue comes up. As long as your sales are OK, then you are OK.

EBay does not exist in a vacuum. Watch the news. Banks have failed and the stock market is plummeting. People with money to spend are sitting tight. People without money are not looking to buy collectibles. Tomorow is a new day and the economy will prosper or it will decline and eBay will follow suit.

No. Ebay will not reimburse sellers if their items don't sell for as much as the seller would like.
Are sellers listings being throttled?
It depends who you ask. Some people say yes. I say no.
What does ebay have to gain by throttling/limiting your sales?
Some kind of hack?
Perhaps. Perhaps someone has hacked ebay and is somehow preventing people from bidding on your items. What they would gain from this I have no idea.
Will sellers lose thousands in potential sales?
It depends on the circumstances.
Any one else experiencing frozen in time listings?
Yes. There is no constant selling online or in a B&M store.
Bids can freeze. Sales can freeze. It happens all the time. It's pretty normal.

·3 years agoHi, sports cards are not my area of expertise, but can understand your suspicion when a valuable item fails to attract attention.
From a general seller’s perspective, it is not unusual for some listings to get fewer bids and/or views than others. It is the norm, in fact. It is why it can be risky for most sellers to start an auction at 99 cents on a pricey item. For most, starting an auction at the lowest amount one can live with, if the listing fails to attract active bidding, is the safer route. There are no guarantees that every item will sell, or that every auction will end well.
It can be difficult to discern what factors may be in play when an item does not do well. With eBay being utterly non-transparent about the inner workings of Cassini, throttling cannot be proven or disproven. If one suspects it does exist, the only real choice a seller may have is to abandon that playing field for greener pastures elsewhere.
With these changing times we live in, i expect some successful sellers may feel an economic pinch they may not have had to contend with before.
