Getting paid
Hello! I have sold an item and have not been paid. I mailed it with usps. I did not click anything on eBay with the label but went to the post office and paid for it. It has been a couple of weeks ago and my money is still on hold.

·1 year agoAs stated, it is much cheaper to purchase your labels through eBay. It can be as easy as printing on a piece of paper and then taping it to the package. No fancy labels needed. I've been doing it that way for 12 year.

·1 year agoIf it's been a couple of weeks you better check your messages to make sure an item not received case wasn't filed against you.

·1 year agoIt sounds like you may not have entered the tracking details on eBay. If you do that and it's been delivered, it's possible the funds would be released to you sooner than otherwise (though no guarantee, as others have said you're a new seller and your funds may be held the full 30 days or even longer in some cases). You should always be in the habit of entering the tracking number on eBay even if you don't purchase the shipping label here (though in almost every case you will pay less, sometimes very significantly so, if you purchase the label via eBay or another online platform than you will at the post office).
This page has details of the types of holds that may apply, and a link to check on the status of your current payment holds: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/payments-hold?id=4816#section3

·1 year agoMake sure you input the tracking number into Ebay under the Order Information too, so that Ebay and the customer can track delivery. Like others have said, new sellers have their funds on hold and amounts they can sell limited until trust is developed. Good luck!

OP1 year agoI just added the tracking number today. Do you think I will be paid sooner? Thank you! 😊

·1 year agoAny reason why you purchased the label separately from USPS? eBay offers a discount through their services and automatically enter the tracking details as well. Please read up as others have mentioned to get familiar with this platform. Good luck.

·1 year agoAs stated by kensgiftshop, eBay can hold new sellers' funds for up to 30 days.
May I respectfully suggest that you read or re-read all the information eBay provides for new sellers? Since you were unaware of this, maybe there's other important info that you missed.

Since you are a new seller, eBay puts a hold on your payments for security reasons, until the item has been received by the buyer.
This hold on payments may last for 30 days or longer, to ensure that there is no fraud involved.
