From today's Seller Check In: Video Upload from App
In his Breakout Session, Chuck Van Pelt said (at about the 8 or 9 minute point) that the ability to upload video to a listing is finally coming to the app.
Unfortunately, he did not provide a timeline.
I post this because I know people were asking about this here.

OP1 year agoAt about 17 minutes, Chuck hints---or at least, I think he's hinting---that ebay is working on changes to how they display descriptions (or description snippets) on the App (and maybe elsewhere). He strongly recommends using simple formatting, so elaborate templates might become an issue (just speculation on my part).

OP1 year agoAt about 25, he confirms that ebay considers responding to an offer---even ridiculously low offers---"engagement" and that improves your item's visibility. So, if a buyer offers $1 on a $100 item, go ahead and counter with 90. No, the buyer probably won't accept , and might just come back with a $2 offer, but ebay's algo is treating this as serious interest and it improves your algo score.

·1 year agoeBay isn't very sophisticated - I suspect this is a call-and-response thing rather than the quality of the interaction, so even junk offers will raise the score. ^^ Good idea how to handle that and make it work for you.

OP1 year ago@chapeau-noir Oh, absolutely. Same as I suspect junk questions are treated as engagement, even if the question is "Is your yard long print three feet long?" And that's fine by me. I would rather not have ebay judging the quality of the engagement ---after all, I've turned very low ball offers into reasonable sales more than once. Also, if ebay did start judging quality, they'd use AI, and really make a mess of it. So, ebay, just call it engagement and give me my visibility points LOL

·1 year agoYeah, I'm glad eBay isn't trying to make the distinction - OMG, we have enough life interference these days as it is.

·1 year agoYeah, that's definitely something I wouldn't trust eBay to try and make a quality determination on.

·1 year agoThanks for letting us know about the video uploads! I'm more interested in this actually, though:
I've long suspected this and seen evidence (albeit anecdotal) from our pattern of offers and sales, but it's nice to see it confirmed!

OP1 year ago@jonathanbrightlight I've suspected it as well, and I think Griff has indicated this in the past, but it was nice to get clear confirmation.
