FREE PROMOTIONS FOR SELLERS WHO HAVE 25 YEARS eBay SERVICE HALF PRICE FOR 10 YEARS OF SERVICE
IT'S ABOUT TIME to give back to the sellers who helped build eBay for so many years making eBay successful. Been with eBay for 25 years seems you should be getting something! JUST SAYING. I don't feel the promo thingy works well anyway, for eBay or the sellers! just promote the stores & eBay and let us all win again. AND JUST DROP THIS WHOLE AI THING IT JUST DOES NOT WORK WELL IN THIS TYPE OF FORMAT. or just try fixing it.

OP1 year agoInteresting comments and replies here. eBay has been a life line for me more then once over the 25 years. it's seems so many are willing to settle for slower sales and higher fee's. Are you willing to point out something when it's not working properly. So when you know it can work better for all. Your comments count.
Far be it from me to point out any flaws. I'm from the old eBay school when you could make a buck for the time you put into it. I guess I'm eBay soiled, and eBay grew from my sweat and many others who put their effort into making it while working for eBay. I JUST CAN'T GET NO RESPECT FROM THEM. All I asked for is a little rise and a unicorn. I'm still waiting for my 25 year cap and pen?? So I don't expect this to work as well.

·1 year agoI've been selling on eBay for 25 years and have concluded that my reputation and longevity -- both important variables to the demographic which frequents my listings -- are actually my greatest strengths... infinitely more effective than promoted listings.
Having said that, it would be nice if eBay gave some of us old timers a bigger discount on shipping supplies. But if not, no big deal. 😃

·1 year agoWell, haven’t you gotten something over the years from eBay? I mean, eBay has enabled you to make money selling, right? Seems like we all know the deal when we join.

OP1 year agoI feel if they sold promotion's for the stores to buy into they would improve sales so much more. Then leave the single item promotions to the store operators within the promoted stores... But single item promotions for single items on the entire eBay format that's just nutty. As I always say who gets the ink first for the millions of tea cups listed?
And AI targeted sales does not work well for impulse shoppers, in fact it removes the impulse buying customer from the retail browsing space, just because they made that single one purchase of a item that they only wanted one of.
All because they purchased it while browsing, now they can no longer do that because AI thinks that's all they want to buy. Let the store owners decide want to do with their on-line retail space. and let eBay promote the stores and every item listed selling on line should only be sold by timing and given equal viewership. After all a lot of folks do not know what they want to buy until they see it. it's called shopping!

·1 year agoIMO neither your listings nor my listings will benefit from promotion. That does not mean that no seller's listings will benefit from promotion. Those sellers who are selling items they have depth of inventory in and lots of competition to sell might benefit from promotion.
It is not usually cost-effective for items you have one of.
I do not want free anything from Ebay. It is like free shipping. The cost will be buried in Ebay fees, and although I get value for paying Ebay fees, I do not want them to be higher to cover the costs of a benefit for other sellers.

·1 year agoeBay and their daily NEW IDEAS. All they keep doing is ruining sales. STOP **bleep** with everything. Go clean the office or something!

·1 year agoeBay gives back to me nearly every week. They send a little deposit to my checking account.
I pay nothing to list, and eBay takes a reasonable fee for what they do for me.
In the 23 + years that I have been selling I don't do enough for eBay to expect anything more from them.

I got that as well and I had lots of herbs last year. This year? Forget about it... too much rain. I also got packing supplies. Saved me some money $$$.
Happy Selling

·1 year agoHerbs and box sits just off to the right from my screen. I look at it and wish that the box was sturdy enough to use to reship something, but alas it just sits there taking up space.

·1 year agoI started on eBay in 1998 and have been constantly selling on eBay with no break. Also, I've been selling at antique shows, coin and stamp shows, flea markets, private sales. Don't believe in putting all my eggs in one basket.

·1 year agoIf you have to diversify that means this platform does not bring you the customers you need. Ebay has not introduced any really new innovations to keep up with the ever increasing marketplaces, for years. It’s why they lose market share every year, and why you have to spread yourself out. But that’s ok, because you can still sell here as well.

·1 year agoI received a commendation from eBay in September 2020 honoring my at that time 23 years of work and service on this site.
I somehow placed this up on Instagram but seems to have lost the original pictured document.
It is still up on my instagram site but I can’t seem to copy and paste this small eBay token off my instagram and to put it on here to show you all my honor.
vintagecraze50
·1 year agoIMO, they do not care about individual sellers they care about the whole site and getting more fees to keep it going. If they do not accomplish that they will fail.

You got something.
You got 25 years of sales that a new seller does not get.
I don't feel the promo thingy works well anyway, for eBay or the sellers
Then why are you asking eBay to give it to you?

I too have found (since the beginning of 2022) that using Promoted Listings (Standard) winds up hurting sales unless one is willing to give away another 12% or more in fees.
vintagecraze50
·1 year agoWell, they could do a lot more things to promote ebay and help sellers to get their prices down so more sales would happen, but for now just suck more fees.
vintagecraze50
·1 year agoTeam UP price down. Temu slogan. If sellers could TEAM UP with ebay together is some way form fashion with price down and that price would be agreed upon by all sellers participating maybe that would work? It’s working for TEMU. LOW PROFIT margins for the sellers with them but they seem to be doing good volume. And stealing market share from a lot of websites.

·1 year agoI realize that its all about economies of scale, but that sounds like something straight out of Orwell's 1984.
Which is probably why is works for a Chinese-owned company.
I don't know any small eBay seller who would participate in such a scheme, although it might work for big factories making stuff to sell on AliExpress.
vintagecraze50
·1 year agoSmall sellers would not benefit from this. The larger sellers might. The MORE customers brought here due to better prices and increase market share would benefit everyone because these customers would be ON HERE instead of somewhere ELSE. THE BUYERS have to be on here.
vintagecraze50
·1 year agoTemu is hitting all these marketplaces hard including the monster Amazon river. You knowing why? They are innovative, spend a lot on marketing, have an incredible APP. They are quite frankly amazing. Last year they took 17 percent of the market share. They will increase that I am sure.
