"Free delivery in 3-6 days, 100% within 4 days" ugh!
Today I noticed this crazy *highlighted* description under the shipping for my items! There is no way that I want my listings to have the claim "100% within 4 days" that I absolutely can't stand behind. We all know that the USPS has issues and some things can take up to 2 weeks or more to arrive.
Does anybody know how I can remove this crazy claim from my listings... I feel like this is straight up lying to my customers.

It is important for sellers to remember that when they view their own listings, the estimated delivery dates are pulling the data by considering YOUR zip code. So if someone else looks at your listing from another zip code they will see something else.
With that said the implication of a guaranteed timeframe is just plain crazy at this time. All carriers are running behind on a regular basis.

·1 year agoWhat you see if you shipped the item to your location. I am in Calfornia and just viewed your listing and it says shipping in 4-9 days.

·1 year agoI live in PA, and see the shipping from April 24 thru April 29 on your listings.
I noticed the green line on my listings. I went to see details link next to shipping, and changed my zip code to one in CA. The dates changed from the green line April 23 thru April 25 to April 24 thru April 29. I have a 3 day handling time also. Ebay is at least taking the zip code into account at the very least.

so there is no "guarantee"...........

But the "non-guarantee" guarantee is in big bold text.
The disclaimer is the ingredients on a box of cereal.
Which do you think the buyer sees first, last & always?
Which, in turn, will a buyer hold a seller (not eBay) accountable for?
I am not smart enough to produce the algorithm, but I would lay down a wager that there has been a growth in premature INR cases against sellers that just TOTALLY accidentally, coincides with this new approach.

I make purchases from my favorite seller from New Jersey...I am in California.
The delivery is 2-3 days...LOL

OP1 year ago2-3 day from Pennsylvania to California is a joke unless it's Express mail. And you're not getting Express mail from coast to coast for $9. I really wish I had more control over what is displayed to buyers..... whatever happened to "under promise and over deliver"?

·1 year agoYes, that use to be the service standard back in the old days.
Never ever promise what you cannot guarantee in stone.
Always, always over-project any time window (delivery or otherwise) so that the WORST you can do is meet expectations, but the odds are you will EXCEED them & wow your customers.

·1 year agoWhen eBay dismisses the Enron-esque facade of telephone customer service support & invests billions of dollars in a supply chain delivery system equipped with eBay delivery drivers with coast-to-coast eBay delivery vans to guarantee specific day deliveries...
then and only then can eBay or any other platform guarantee a specific delivery day.
Or expect any seller to be a Roomba.
Gosh, golly, gee...even the carriers never promise any day or even window in stone.

·1 year agoThis is showing four day delivery from your city, Mechanicsville, PA, to your ZIP code, 17055. Not unusual to see this when viewing your own listings, nothing to worry about. I know that I see it myself whenever viewing my own listings.

It is an eBay million-dollar idea.
I have expressed concerns about this countless times. One of my very few.
eBay is single-handedly creating buyer anxiety & concerns/complaints over delayed shipments with this approach IMHO.
I just shipped a USPS Ground Advantage box at 10:21 am from the East Coast to California & the projection for delivery (window) begins on 4/23
I cannot guarantee USPS Priority Express to make it there by that time
IMHO in an attempt to market eBay as the "get it fast" platform they are creating entirely unrealistic expectations that the sellers, not eBay, has to eventually struggle with.
An unforced error if ever there was one.
edited......Oh, and I forgot to add that my 3-day handling window on that order made 4/23 the last day to handle .

·1 year agoWhen I shipped the item to my customer, the delivery window displayed to my buyer began with 4/23.
I shipped late this morning 4/21
So theoretically, eBay is telling my customer that I will deliver their purchase 1000"s of miles on the last day upon which I am permitted to still be packing/processing the order?

The delivery window that only I and my customer are privy to begins with 4/23.
I live on the edge of the East Coast, the buyer the edge of the West Coast
I did not select USPS Priority Express which still might not make it

OP1 year agoThat's nice to see. However I'd still be concerned if I inadvertently offered any sort of "guarantee" to anywhere including my home town! It's just not possible to guarantee delivery unless I hand deliver something to the buyer. I go on trips, family events happen, I have a 2 day handling time, and my local post office has screwed entire days' shipments up at a time before. I wish I could find a workaround...
