As of Jan 1, 2022, the IRS now requires us to file and send a Form 1099-K to everyone who sells $600 or more. So these IRS criminals realize that $600 sold doesn't mean there is ANY Profit after eBay takes 20% and the cost of the item. If you are selling things at a loss because you are selling things you didn't intend to sell but because this Government is out of control with inflation and everything else, people need to make money other ways. So If I buy something for $100. 2 years later I decide I need to sell it to eat, for the same $100. Ebay takes $20 in Fees, shipping was $5 out of my end, I am down the $75... does these Tax Crooks understand I LOST Money here? Can I file for a Loss? I just got the message from eBay about this that I went over $600. I actually am at $598 and change of which they got at least $125 besides shipping cost that I "Shipped for Free" which means I PAY. Point is, This isn't the racetrack where I won $600 or more and even at The Track, it's anything OVER $600 per $1 wagered. If you won $599, they don't bother you. Here, you actually LOSE Money and they act as though you made a fortune. Anyone have any insight to this process and do I need to hire a Tax guy because of so, I thin k I am done here. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you
