Fishy buyer?
Buyer claims first that it did not receive the package which was sent with the label from eBay. After confirming the recipient address was the same as the one on the label. Buyer then says it received an empty envelope. After all shipping fees and eBay fees there was only $2.64 that did not even cover the handling of the package.
what to do? I am the seller.

·6 months agoSorry you're going thru all this as it's a real headache for such a small sale. But its just part of the learning curve. Do like everyone else said and block the buyer. It's really sad to say but with you being a new seller, you now have a target on your back. Some scammers try to take advantage of new seller's lack of knowledge on what to do. You did the right thing by coming here first. Like said above just refund the creep and take it as your first payment to your new School. You will learn a lot now that your feet are wet. Just make sure you remember what you learn and with time it gets easier. If you want to feel better about and make them loose some sleep, after refunding them, ask them for the best number to be reached at during the day. Tell them you went ahead and alerted a postal inspector for them. Tell them that the inspector said he will dig into it because using the postal system for fraud/theft is a federal crime and they take it very seriously. Important to put the slash in between the 2 words. Then leave it alone and forget it. If the guy is lying, he will become very nervous. I have done it a couple times and have had them get ahold me later saying forget it my neighbor just brought over to me or something like that. But it amazing how it shows up once the fear of god is put into them. Good Luck and Forget about it and move on. Always better to be listing more instead of wasting time on small things.

So, the buyer finally responded to me when I asked about proof and to send me pictures of the package that the buyer claimed it was empty.
Buyer, today claims that she doesn't have it anymore, threw it away.
After 2 minutes, she sends another message saying. "That was 2weeks ago…!"
What to do? Please help. Thank you.
P.S. Just recaping what has transpired
I purchased the ebay USPS label with tracking information. Sent it using that label. Item was delivered, Buyer contacts me and says, Item shows delivered and I did not receive the package. I asked is this the correct address matching the USPS label to it, buyer responds and says yes, it is. Now, I have the package, but the package came in empty. Buyer claims she lives alone and no one could have opened the package. So, buyer changes the story from I did not receive the package to the package came in, but it was empty. Someone here suggested I asked for pictures of the received packaging, after 4-5 days buyer finally responds and says I do not have it, threw it away, after 2 mins sends another message. It's been 2 weeks!
