first time ever for this cancel request reason

Got a official cancel request from someone who had just bought something and this message

"Hi, I didn't realize your ebay page said this item was out of stock until after I ordered it. Will you have anymore of these anytime soon?"

I did not see this for a couple hours and told them that

"I do have it if they want it they will have to repurchase it."

Buyer responded

" I already bought one from another seller who had it in stock"

I responded " the reason it showed out of stock was because you bought it"

Actually I am glad that the sale got canceled because the item required some level of competence to install

There is a chance that they are giving a bogus buyers remorse excuse just so they can purchase the item from someone else for cheaper. Yes I agree it's better off cancelled. I've dealt with buyers who purchase items and then returned them because they found the item cheaper. Waste of time and money for a sale which went through and the shopping for price process should've been over with.

it could be and they did not know that the truth would of accomplished exactly the same thing

But the item was a very obscure replacement part for a 75 year old fuse box that as near as I can tell no one else sells
