fees
Despite the fee details saying there are no fees why are ebay taking £0.88 from a sale of £12.00 from an item sold in the UK? Many thanks for any help. Steve.

·8 months agoSince the policies in the UK are different from the US and very few if any of the users here are UK-based, I'd suggest you log out here and into the UK forums: https://community.ebay.co.uk/
You'll likely find people there who are more familiar with what you're experiencing. Sorry, we get lots of visitors from the UK site that don't realize they're on the US forums!

·8 months agoIt has been recommended to you here that you return to your home site (UK) and post your question there. Some of the rules are different from area to area and most of here in the USA aren't going to be able to offer much advice except as above.

·8 months agoSo that resolves your issue? Would still like to see details about no fees in the UK if you'd so oblige.

·8 months agoEBAY always charges "selling fees" when you sell an item.

·8 months ago1. Since you're in the UK, you'd probably be better off asking your question on that site.
2. When you sell an item, don't you see a breakdown of the fees you'll be charged?

OP8 months agoHi, That's the issue, i'm in the UK where are no selling fees for private sellers, the buyer pays buyer protection fee! this has happened on a few of my sales this year! Steve.

·8 months agoSo you're saying that I could move to the UK, sell lots of items from there and pay absolutely no fees.
Since fees are the way eBay makes money, how is it profitable for them to allow UK sellers then?
PS: To clarify here are you referring to NO LISTING FEES or to NO FINAL VALUE FEES. Those are two different things? And can you quote from the place where eBay states you will pay no fees when you sell?

OP8 months agoYes but there now making the money from buyers protection fees, it was introduced in 2024 in the UK.
