Fees
Really? A customer cancels a $69 order so I'm out the sale, yet Ebay charges me $11.13 in fees???? Something is wrong with this.

·8 months agoNever use those extra cost listing features. Listing fees don't get refunded. They also seldom help sales anyway.

·8 months agoI used to run ads in Auto Trader, Truck Trader all the time in my buying and selling Cars, Trucks days. $29 a pop. Not all my vehicles sold for every $29 pop I paid Trader Publishing.
Upsetting? Yes.
Anything I could do about it? No.
Same with all these new Promotional Ads ebay came up with. Ebay is collecting their money whether your items sell or not, as in Buyer cancelling the sale. Your Promotional Ad campaign brought that Buyer to your item. Ebay is getting paid for that. It's not on ebay that the Buyer cancelled.
Last week I went through my entire 80 something listings. Ended.....Sell Similar. ALL my listings are New. NO Past Promotional Fees prior to January 13th will be applied to any of my listings. None of my stuff is Promotional worthy. If it sells, it sells. If it doesn't, it doesn't. But when/if it does, ebay will only get the minimal of fees from me.

·8 months agoPromoting fee is still charged even if it is a cancel sale I think.

·8 months agoWith a general ad campaign the fees are automatically credited upon order cancellation.
With an advanced ad campaign the fees are pay-per-click, billed daily, and non-refundable. Since those fees are charged daily and not at time of purchase, I don't think it applies to the OP's query.

·8 months agoNot for the standard 'General Promotion' (fee charged WHEN it sells)
For 'Priority Promotions'- this is a fee charged whether it sells or not, it's a fee to 'show it' in 'other places' like Google etc.

·8 months agoThat's not how it works. When you agree to a buyer's cancellation request, the fees are automatically credited as part of the refund process. Take a look at the financial details again and you'll see you came out whole.

·8 months agoEveryone commenting on promotion fees, that’s not likely the issue. @wastingtime101 almost certainly has the correct explanation. It’s probably just a misunderstanding of the refund screen, showing the eBay fees deducted from the refund amount.
