Feedback still showing 16 yrs later.
I looked at a buyer's feedback yesterday and there's a review from 2009 on the first page. That's 16 yrs old. It's not like I had to go back several pages, but on the first page you see, bottom left corner in a box by itself. That's so damaging to that seller. Anyone else have this on their feedback?

Many buyers/people confuse feedback vs reviews. I believe intent is for the feedback to be regarding the transaction between buyer and seller. Whereas, the review is supposed to be about the PRODUCT itself.
Obviously that wasn't the buyer's understanding and that's where the mixup is.
It probably makes sense for product reviews to stick around longer than seller feedback.

·10 months agoWhy would some one go and dig up FB from 16 years ago. Would rather spend time sharpening my selling skills and evaluating why some items ain't selling and what was..
It is not what one did in the yesteryears that count, it is how one performs today..

·10 months agoI think what you're seeing is supposed to be a review of an item. But in this case, the buyer reviewed the seller.

·10 months agoYou're totally misunderstanding what you're seeing. That is just a page that gives a sample of the kind of feedbacks AND reviews that the buyer leaves. And it's probably the only review they have ever left, or a more recent one would be on that page. Also it doesn't show the seller's name so it can't harm the seller.

·10 months agoPeople can & will change over time for the better or worse. Being a seller is not a skill easily earned. Serious doubt a neg from 16 years ago is very damaging.. Haven't had a speeding ticket since 1984 when I received 3 within 2 months. The Speedometer was off significantly on a brand new Pontiac with original tires. Had speedo calibrated - the speedo was off by 12 mph at 60 mph reading on the speedometer. Todays cars from the factor must comply to a + or - variance of 2 mph.. In the mid 60s the variance was = or minus 3 mph - I did testing on 1967 Ford Mustangs to pay for college at the Ford Dearborn Assembly Plant. and earned a 4.5 year degree in Automotive Engineering. Never engineered one thing for anyone - found my career calling in sales & marketing.in the same industry

What if that's what showed on your first feedback page? With all the feedbacks showing for pages and years back are positive.
I wouldn't like it...

OP10 months agoThat's on their first feedback page. It says review of the seller on the bottom left side of their feedback. I'm sure it's a review for them. I just cut off the top of it to not show all the people that left feedback for them. Why would they put a "review" of someone else on this person's feedback page?

·10 months agoIn other words whoever left the feedback was in the wrong yet wanted the seller/buyer they left the feedback for to do something they did not have to do.

OP10 months agoIt did display their name. Yes I cropped it. The same page as yours if you click on the # of fbs in brackets. Shows how long you've been here, your ebay name, everything. I just cut off all the page except for that part. Now when I go back it's gone. But it was there I swear! lol

·10 months agoIts a disgrace, how can a 16 year old FB be considered "most relevant" So a seller who has acquired a minor number of negs over the years will look like the worst seller ever if they are all kept at the top for decades.

I suppose that is eBay's idea of "relevancy" which is the default setting (if you ever manage to get to the REAL feedback page). They told us that if would only pull from the last 5 years of feedback for the display you are showing in your screen shot. I guess that was wrong.
To get to the page you need, click on that blue SEE ALL FEEDBACK button. You may have to do it on more than one screen until the small "switch to classic view" appears on the top right of the page. You can no longer go directly to the REAL feedback page from a listing like we can here on the forums. You can't go there at all to see a user's country of registration if they are a ZERO feedback account or have been dormant. It is like they don't want us to go there at all.
Here on the forums you can go to your (or anyone's page) by clicking on the feedback number. In the URL you can highlight the user ID after the forward slash/ and before the question mark?, replace it with the one you want to see and get to the page you want even if it is a ZERO feedback account. Then you can sort by most recent, and actually view and read any negs. This is the only place I know about that actually shows the country of registration for a seller or buyer. There are other ways to get to the page you need as well, but I have found that often some of them don't always work consistently anymore.

·10 months agoThat is an amazing FB. Without any real details it tell so much about the seller and many sellers.
I could see it lingering as a most relevant FB.
Even I can fake some empathy, and I actually have had some real empathy recently for some of my repeat buyers who were the victims of natural disasters.

·10 months agoYou're talking about the full feedback page. That is not what the OP's screenshot is -it's that first 'landing page' you get when you click on a member's feedback number.
