FEEDBACK REMOVAL IS A JOKE
I have never posted on here.Read it off and on but I am irritated beyond belief. I had a buyer who received a new item and said a wheel was missing. (Diecast Car) His exact statement here "PIcs did not reveal the missing right-side rear wheel. The other 3 wheels OK. But this car is far from "new". I deserve a refund. Otherwise your feedback will not be complimentary"
My response: Did not open it because its new but dont threaten me with feedback. Thats totaly inappropriate - Open a return for it. I dont like being threatend, try being polite..
NEVER opened a return leads me to believe SCAM obviously, never responded, never emailed. Looking for partial refund.
Leaves Negative feedback and lies in the feedback on top of that.
This falls under the EBAY Policy clearly stated. You cannot extort feedback.
I offered refund to get the car back...Never opened a request.
This is clearly removable but as usual they did not and stated it was the buyers experience..
WHAT ? They violated YOUR policy by threatening and then again by not opening a request to get a refund which is required to send the item back. I want the item back I am not refunding without it.
It is a flat out joke this was not removed and its the third one very similar.. I have over 11,000 transactions and this still irritates me to this day.

·1 year agoYour fb response shows emotion, I've had this same situation occur several times. It's not your fault they will do what they do to try and shake you down, some will use FB as part of the play. Next time, be chipper, encourage returns, lay out the red carpet, get them to open a return. Repeat the words 'full refund' in every correspondence. Respond to feedback with the same narrative, professional, something like 'easy returns, waiting for this buyer to open a return, buyer has not returned item'

A better response to this...
Hello James, So sorry this happened. The item was brand new in a unopened box so I don't know how this could happen. Please initiate a return via ebay. as soon as the tracking show the item has reached me, ebay will automatically issue you full refund. Sorry again that this happened.

OP1 year agoThats great, but I am sick and tired of these scam artist on ebay... FED UP WITH THEM.. not going to be nice when they threaten

·1 year agoThis is what I was thinking of when I read the OP. @vqpsales Although I believe the message you received might qualify as feedback extortion (message ebay facebook and I'll bet they'll remove it for you), this could have been avoided had your reply been more professional like inhawaii shows.
From later replies I get that you're sick and tired of certain types of buyers, and I don't blame your frustration towards it. In my eyes, it wasn't certain to me yet if the buyer was trying to abuse the system or not. And I tend to lean on benefit of the doubt.
Maybe being nice to the buyer wouldn't have mattered and you'd still get the negative, who knows. But at least it would have decreased the chance at getting one tho. I think you already know that and choose to stick to your guns, which I can respect regardless if I agree with it or not. And I think you already know the more aggressive approach will likely lead to more instances like this in the future. As long as you're okay with that possible consequence, I wouldn't get too worked up if and when the negs come. Good luck.
This is the feedbak you received?
"Seller said car was new, but only had 3 wheels! Then he threatened to report me (?) for asking for a refund. Then he suggested a return when his listing said he did not accept returns. I ended up telling him to keep the money (all$15). I'll keep the car as I reminder that all sellers cannot be trusted (most can, of course). Have not heard back from him since telling him to keep the money. That must have made him happy!"
I don't read it as extortion. It doesn't even violate eBay policy.
Your reply on the otherhand was very unprofessional.

But if this was sent in a message
: "PIcs did not reveal the missing right-side rear wheel. The other 3 wheels OK. But this car is far from "new". I deserve a refund. Otherwise your feedback will not be complimentary"
Doesn't that meet the definition?
mam98031
·1 year agoIt does or it is suppose to. Using the auto method of asking for the feedback to be removed would not consider the messages between the buyer and the seller. That would be something that you need to take to Ebay via a different method for customer service. Facebook being the best way to present your case.

·1 year ago@mam98031 Thank you.
I figured as much that's why I suggested they contact them on Facebook, with the policy & the message.

OP1 year agoAlready did and they said it was buyers experience ? What experience-They tried an old scam and it didnt work The buyer is a crook
vqpsales
OP1 year agoExactly - A threat is a threat
This buyer never sent another message to me ever
Did not open a return
Then left lies in feedback
Its a scam, fishing for a partial refund
Its so obvious
If there was something wrong you would file a return, especially after I told them to, but that was the problem wasnt it ? He was scamming me and used feedback extortion to try and get it
vqpsales
OP1 year agoWell I guess you cant read can you
This buyer flat out tried to scam me period..Get serious..I am not going to take crap from a buyer like that...Try being polite that fact is he wasnt - Better give me a refund or your feedback wont be complimentry..SERIOUSLY

·1 year agoIf buyer did not get was he received, he is entitled to a return for refund.
If he says he deserves something he is entitled to, that is not feedback extortion.

·1 year agoStrange; your account shows no listings, nothing sold and the feedback page says 'issue'??
Anyway, do as suggested if you did the 'already set up feedback removal process'- try 'appealing' to reps on facebook (if you don't have fb- sign up and get if for just this reason as the reps there actually can do something)
mam98031

That is likely NOT the OP's issue but one of the system. I've seen this off and on over the past couple of weeks. For me, I'm getting the same thing you are. IDK what is causing it, but I know it has been reported.

·1 year agoWhen they change their Ebay ID, it doesn't update here in the community and the links go to their old ID.
When you go to their feedback page, you have to replace their old ID with their new one.

·1 year ago@kensgiftshop
Replace it where?
kensgiftshop
·1 year agoIn the URL on the feedback page.
On the OP, when you click their feedback, it goes to their old ID
https://feedback.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile/goblindeals
Once on that link, replace their old ID with their new one, vqpsales.

Try contacting them via message on the Facebook page.
There are helpful & knowledgeable reps there.
Quote & link the extortion policy in your message and ask for removal.
Good Luck!

·1 year agoThe condition the box is in, don't know if I'd call it new.
If you didn't take it out and check it, you don't know if all the wheels were on it or not.
vqpsales
OP1 year agoIt was new and was in storage from a large collector, otherwise this buyer could have made a return ??? But didnt so it was a scam plain and simple..Thats one of the oldest tricks on ebay
mam98031
·1 year agoTo be a "scam", you have to be out money or product. It is my understanding that the buyer did not return the item and you did not refund. Do I have that wrong?
