Feedback Rating Buttons Have Been Switched Around.
I just received a negative feedback. The buyer also left a second one immediately after mine. Both were positive comments. I went and looked at the feedback “buttons†and eBay, in all their wisdom has moved the position so the negative is now at the far right, neutral in the middle, and positive to the far left. Anyone by habit thinking they were leaving a positive would hit the negative button and not even realize that.

·1 year agoawesome update this will make my experience using eBay better. I had always thought the button order on the feedback page was a real issue here.

·1 year agoWhy didn't you just comment with 'buyer obviously meant this to be a positive as per the verbiage' instead of 'defending yourself' when you didn't need to??
Responses are for everyone else to see, not for the 'leaver'.
When leaving a Neg, a box pops up that says "are you sure" (paraphrasing) so someone can't Accidently hit Neg, regardless of where it is.

OP1 year ago@stainlessenginecovers I didn’t take time to analyze it. …I guess. I don’t have a lot of experience replying to negative feedback as some

·1 year agoHi @frugalmarketplace
I don't buy much on eBay but as a Seller when I leave FB the ONLY choice of course is for Positive, so it is pegged to the left button spot. I never noticed the order on items I have purchased but one irritating message I see on the FB flow on the items I have purchased from Experienced Sellers (like the old Power Seller status) is that you can't leave Negative FB for 7 days for a Seller ... eBay could easily have phrased that "You cannot leave less than Positive Feedback for this Seller for 7 days ..."

OP1 year agoThis is what is wrong with the feedback system…we know a person doesn’t review these, and look at the reason for non removal.
NOT AS DESCRIBED
For this reason, the feedback was not removed. Just so you know, this feedback will not impact your seller performance level.

·1 year agoHmm, I'd follow up with a real human then (via social media). And I would use the exact wording of the policy as shown above.

·1 year agoBuyer seemed very happy with the transaction. Makes no sense that they wouldn't revise the neg, but that's not eBay's fault.
I never leaves negs. Does eBay have an interim warning screen to confirm that a user really intends to leave a neg? If not, they should.
frugalmarketplace
OP1 year agoNo warning system, but that is an excellent idea.

·1 year agoUnless it has been dropped, there was a warning that negative feedback shouldn't (or couldn't) be left for 7 days so there was time to work things out between the 2 parties.
frugalmarketplace
OP1 year agoYes there was… nothing now.

·1 year agoUnless it has been dropped, there was a warning about leaving negative feedback and having to or should wait 7 days before leaving it to allow the 2 parties to work things out.

·1 year agoAs I buyer, I read then click and don't recall the negative being first or last. But looking at my leave Feedback page, the layout of the whole is different and bigger. More simple less cluttered looking.

OP1 year agoIt was always on the right. I just got off the phone with eBay, and it was switched. They are going to do a manual review.
I left feedback about 2 weeks ago for a book I purchased and this has changed since then.

·1 year agoPeople read a page left to right. Positive is the first choice the eye sees. How is that a bad thing? Having the neg on the left would be worse for accidental clicks.
Ask for a revision. The neg was clearly a mistake.
frugalmarketplace
OP1 year agoI did ask for revision and they refused
redlinear
·1 year agoThat makes no sense unless they actually meant to leave a negative and accidentally typed the wrong message.
OR, I think some buyers just think leaving a negative is funny (to them).
frugalmarketplace
OP1 year ago@redlinear
I think this buyer may be somewhat confused as all of the feedback left is similar and very rambling

I had a similar situation a couple of months ago, and I used the automated feedback removal tool. I pointed out the ebay policy that was being violated, and the feedback was removed within a couple of hours.
