Feedback enhancements now visible
All,
Over the past few months, we’ve been working to improve the feedback experience for buyers on eBay. We are making these changes in order to give potential buyers better insight into your products.
- We recently updated the default sort to highlight the most relevant feedback for your potential buyers.
- We have also started rolling out images on feedback to select sellers who have listings with multiple quantities.
Starting this month, sellers will be able to preview feedback images on their own sold items. At this time, other eBay buyers and sellers will not be able to view images in your feedback. Existing policies related to feedback and feedback removal will also apply to images. Once this rollout is complete, we’ll be expanding image feedback visibility to buyers.
With these updates, your potential buyers will see your most engaged buyers’ feedback and be more confident about their purchasing decisions. Richer text and images in feedback may add credibility and drive sales by instilling additional confidence for interested buyers as they shop. To date, we've already collected almost a million images and the vast majority are associated with positive feedback and showcase the great products and positive experiences buyers have with our eBay sellers.
These updates will serve to add credibility to reviews and increase buyer confidence, while also elevating your feedback scores and helping to drive conversion.
As always, thank you for selling on eBay.
The eBay Team

·1 year agoPlease reduce or eliminate the mandatory 500 character feedback requirement for buyers. A feedback that long is not always necessary, and some buyers don't feel the need to write that much. By making this a requirement, I've been stiffed for buyer feedback on the last six items I've sold.

·2 years agoNEW Feedback Pipe Dreams
I cannot get buyers to provide ANY feedback never mind writing a dissertation on a $10 item.
As a result of all the thinking on team eBay, I'll get 2 types of responses:
1) Negative feedback because the buyer didn't read the posting or scamming for free item
2) No feedback whatsoever

·2 years agoHow about changing the feedback policy for buyers that they must message the seller first to resolve an issue before they are allowed to leave a negative feedback? I have 6 negatives and 5 of those are from newer members that never messaged me about an issue. First thing they do is go write a negative feedback comment. Ebay, you need to do a better job on this subject to help your sellers.

·2 years agoThis was a terrible idea . Now people see negative reviews from over a years ago that have no relevents to eh product being sold . A buyer was trying to extort me into lowering my price . He left a bad review on an item that gets 5 star reviews all the time on other sites and ebay .
A pool heater and a waste oil forge burner have nothing in common yet they see an old negative review from a cheap buyer working the system for discounts . He flat out did not follow the instruction of the product and my advice . I have video proof and i have other buyers of that very product ot prove he is working the sytem and jabbing at me to hurt me because of our conversation and his stubbornness
Ever since you rolled this out it is showing everybody who checks my listing a negative review from a buyer who will not follow instructions or even ask for input on the product . He was mad about the cost even after i gave him a huge discount . My sales have fallen off the map from like $7000 a month to $2000 and the graph lines up with the slump in sales , we are forced to keep our own records because ebay deletes them .
It hides damages caused by your "New " ideas you roll out . Seems like ebay just keeps getting worse and worse not better and better so im gonna shut up now before i get kicked off .

·2 years agoWhat is the oldest feedback that will be surfaced when sorting by relevance?
Feedback comments sorted by relevance can be up to 5 years old, however, the recency of the comment is factored into the sorting logic so more recently posted comments will be more likely to show more highly. If you have a significant volume of recent feedback it should be rare for very old feedback to show at the top of the page.
thearteryfineart
·2 years agoEbay has 'deemed' my 10 mos. old negative feedback as most 'relevant' to all my 2200+ listings and now highlights it on the bottom each each and every listing, despite being a seller since 1998, 98.8% positive feedback of 8897 total, 19K items sold.

·2 years ago"Rate this item". Really? I can't submit my feedback if I don't want to rate the item? That's bull**bleep**. Why is eBay becoming such a data gatherer? You selling all the member data to make up for decreasing traffic? You guys just make it harder and harder to be a member. Etsy, Poshmark, Mercari and Facebook Marketplace are looking better and better. All your extra "Star" categories should ONLY be optional or people are just going to forgo all feedback due to the hassle.

·2 years agoWhy was the dashboard removed that showed if you have received feedback, shipped your item, etc, etc?
When, as a buyer, I saw that a seller had left me feedback (due to the little envelope icon being highlighted), I would then leave them feedback. Without that feature, I would have to look through my feedback, see if feedback was left, then go back to purchase history and find the item and leave feedback for the seller.
No way I'm spending my time doing that.
It's gone back to the old style purchase history page.
What could possibly have been a good reason to remove that ?
shipshapedeals
·2 years agoI dont get it . I post a feedback for my buyer and go to see that it posted correctly and I find that I am less relevant that 6 or 8 other feedbacks of other sellers that were posted over 6 months ago or a more than a year ago. That is very weird. It is even more weird that the drop down tab to SELECT what you want to see is set on Most relevant automatically and to see the latest you have drop it down and select latest.
I don't understand the reason behind this. Also, This just now started happening to me and I see a lot of these posts are from quite awhile back. this week is when I have seen it happening so it;s not straight across. how are they determining whose accounts they do this to initially? Jan 30 2024

·2 years agoIs there going to be any updating regarding the buyers having to leave feedback? I have been selling off and on for 5 years and my feedback score is low because hardly any of the buyers leave feedback, although sellers have to leave feedback for the buyers. It is very discouraging to the seller the Sell, Package and Ship the merchandise and get nothing for feedback, whether good or bad feedback. There should be something about how a buyer can't buy again until they leave feedback for the previous buy. Or at least, Something.
itsjustasprain
·2 years agoI really cannot see anything good resulting from forcing a buyer to leave feedback OR blocking him from future purchases for that reason.
brian_burke@ebay
@backroombargains2016 - we do not require buyers or sellers to leave Feedback. Though for sellers it's a best practice to automate leaving feedback either once the buyer has paid.
To show buyers a sellers activity we recently increased the display of the "items sold" count on the seller's profile. Click on your username or the view listings link and you will see the Sold Items count. Feedback has always been optional, but encouraged.
Thanks for selling on eBay

Time for eBay to be honest with itself and admit this change was ill-advised and does more harm than good. In fact, it's all harm and no good.

·2 years agoWhere is the accountability on eBay's behalf? Why is the OP so quiet? Called customer service three times about frivolous neutral & negative feedbacks left by abusive buyers the past week and a half which lead to false escalation and promises from the so called reps/appeals department. To piggy back on what @whiteyswrecking said, feedback is constantly used and abused as retaliation from buyers. Sellers need to be able to leave negative feedback for buyers to protect other sellers from future bad transactions as the feedback system has become eroded over the years in favor of ONLY buyers.
Notice how majority of neutral/negative feedbacks are left by buyers with feedback scores of 400-500 or less. Many of them newbies skipping communication with sellers not giving them a chance to rectify the situation and then lying when eBay prompts them "have your tried to work out a solution with your seller" before leaving neutral/negative feedback. This new feedback is an "enhancement" to further feedback abuse and is truly UNFAIR for sellers.

·2 years agoThey have responded once or twice after repeated pings. This whole 'having a discussion in a discussion group' has been a bit of a learning experience for them I think. If you look at their posting activity you can see that they are more used to post-and-run announcements. ·2 years agoI know! Have reported this to Ebay Concierge multiples times and am told IT is working on known issue.
Was also told its an IT glitch that is hitting many sellers but not all. Its the craziest glitch I have ever seen in my 15 years of glitches with EBay.
My ebay app shows that I have 1 negative but when I click on the red "1 " to read the review suddenly over 10 negatives are showing and all are over a year old, had been removed. Same with neutrals. App says I have 5 but I click on the "5" and more than five appear that were previously not there.
I checked on my competitor sites and same thing is happening for some. Loads of reviews from prior years suddenly on full display for all to see on the ebay mobile app only not on a desktop/laptop.
I really hope they fix this as they have created a HUGELY UNFAIR situation for sellers.

·2 years agoA lot going on here!
Until eBay revises the 12-month feedback chart to show all without digging, I will always take the time to review all buyer and seller feedback history. Yes, it takes a little time, but it is worth avoiding a headache down the road.
I recently commented on another post about a potential buyer. Current feedback chart looked okay, but after reviewing feedback for sellers, the buyer had left something like 19 negatives in their last 25 feedbacks left for sellers.
siamjane8
·2 years ago@sextons-sweet-deals I agree with you for sure. If a buyer reaches out looking for a deal or makes an offer- the first thing i check is their "feedback left for others" If they are a problematic buyer that is never satisfied and leaves allot of neg- i dont need their business.
siamjane8
·2 years agoThanks for the update and explanation ebay team.
Unfortunately this project looks to have been busy-work. I cannot imagine how on any level this will do anything to help sales conversion (dredging up 5 year old negs and neuts will have the opposite effect and have ZERO bearing on the current quality of the seller...)..... we just wish ebay would focus on core issues that DO negatively effect sales - like the search engine relevancy and the buyer friction and confusion of all the listing page promoted listings trying to pull the buyer away from a sale.
The AI on this platform has proven time and time again to be severely lacking at best- why cant ebay just keep it simple and make it quick and easy and not distracting to buy here?
Sometimes you just have to power through- if they would cut the budget on projects like these and put that into advertising and sales/promotions/site discounts/etc- ebay would start to attract new buyers again
pretzul64
·2 years agoWell said!! ebay could have used this effort to advertise, which would increase both Ebay's and seller's profits. Unfortunately, they have
probably done just the opposite.

Hello all,
Please see the FAQ's posted below for further details on relevance ranking:
What factors are you using to define the “relevance†of feedback comments?
Will all types of feedback (positive, negative and neutral) be sorted based on relevance?
What is the oldest feedback that will be surfaced when sorting by relevance?
How will relevance be determined if a seller sells mainly “one off†items?
Will I be able to save my preference for sorting?
Will buyers be able to sort feedback by most recent?
When will I see the new default sort?
Will this new default sort to relevance hurt sales?
a_c_green
·2 years ago@seller_news_team : I'm curious as to why you can't save a sort preference. Aren't you just using cookies to save preferences?
This has been a similar headache in the Search field as well. In the desktop view, your choice of Sort By preference for your results (e.g. Newly Listed) will carry forward and apply to future Search results as well, unless or until you choose a different sort, which is fine. But in the Mobile app, it keeps reverting to "Best Match" every time, regardless of what sort preference you chose last time. There's no way to lock it in.
Is it not possible to consistently save the user preferences for operations where the user has a choice that he might want to carry forward, such as how he wants to view Feedback results?

·2 years agois this why this supposedly "known glitch" is happening where suddenly 10 negatives from over a year ago and that were removed off my site by ebay for policy violations and as a seller courtesies are showing on my andriod ebay app but not desktop? when you click on feedback itself to view item it shows ITEM HAS BEEN REMOVED OR IS NOT AVAILABLE. ·2 years agoYes, it can definitely hurt sales. I didn't even notice the change, my friend did. They called me and said if they didn't know me, they probably wouldn't buy from me based on what ebay considers "most relevant feedback". Ebay's algorithms are based on what ANY customer might say no matter how many transactions they have..Sellers need to have a chance to respond to the feedback used to determine most relevant.
a_c_green
·2 years ago@seller_news_team : Hi again. I'm following up on a couple of questions that are still outstanding:
I'm curious as to why you can't save a sort preference. Aren't you just using cookies to save preferences?

Also, regarding the new functionality of adding photos to Feedback comments:
Some details of an individual Feedback comment drop off after a month, six months, or a year, such as a link to the listing, or the title identifying what the item was. Will photos also drop off after some predetermined period of time?
a_c_green
·2 years ago...and another question, now that I have seen photos beginning to appear in my own feedback: when viewing a buyer's feedback left for others, will we also be able to view that buyer's photos left for others? At the present time, the answer seems to be No, based on my going to the feedback page of the buyer who left a photo with my feedback, although I know this is an incremental rollout, so it's not clear yet what the final intent may be.
@seller_news_team : It's been a solid week with zero response. This is a topic that may have a significant impact on sellers. Can you not designate even one person to come back and answer specific questions?
@brian_burke@ebay : Might you be able to light a fire under someone to get back here and participate?

Future readers of this thread would be better served with seeing the answers here, rather than somehow finding them elsewhere in a monthly discussion that is locked just 60 minutes after it starts.
I think I'd be more interested in a meta discussion, really: Why is there such reluctance (or prohibition, even) on letting managers or developers interact with users here to get more productive results, in terms of actual process improvement, bug fixes, enhancements and so on?

·2 years agoHere's a thought that might "add credibility and drive sales by instilling additional confidence for interested buyers" ..........
eBay should automatically give a seller a Positive Feedback with the eBay logo instead of a photo stating "this item arrived on time" or "arrived within the estimated delivery time" for all items that qualify where the buyer did not leave feedback.
Buyers want to know how dependable the seller is and that feedback posted by eBay would go a long way towards instilling additional confidence in buyers!

·2 years agoI dont blame the teams for any of these changes... they are just trying to innovate and do their job like any one of us at our jobs. I dont doubt that they believe in what they are doing and think that it will have a positive effect. Who knows- maybe it will. I think the frustration with sellers is that there are so may huge and glowing issues with the platform that seemingly go on ignored.
Send out a survey to list the top 10 issues with ebay and have us all rate them 1-10....... then put every possible resource on fixing them in order of actual importance of us- the customer base.
From the perspective of a seller or even a buyer, the feedback loop is probably the most insignificant part of a sale-realistically these changes will have 0 effect on improving sales... because feedback is not the reason for the drop in sales.
Our frustration with ebay is that they strain the knat and gulp the camel- look at things that little bearing on sales and ignore the ones that do- like the search relevancy and issue with promoted listings degrading the buyer search experience. The listing view is cluttered with paid distractions pulling people AWAY from making a sale. AI determines what ebay wants to show instead of what buyers search for. etc. etc.- these are the issues that causing less people to shop here. Global shipping and sales have been cut by 2/3 since ebay took over international shipping for GSP!.... we get constant emails asking why we dont ship to this country or that country now.....Friction.
Until ebay actually works on the root causes of the steady decline....... then feedback remains irrelevant.

·2 years agoIt doesn't matter. Buyers do not leave feedback as often as they used to. As a seller I give more feedback than I receive. I get a reminder to leave feedback and I assume buyers do also but they rarely comply. It is a useless thing if a seller can't post negative comments about a bad buyer but a buyer can post negative about a seller.
siamjane8
·2 years agoLOL- sales are in the toilet, the search is so manipulated to show what ebay wants you to buy instead of what the buyer typed in the search (because that is what they wanted to purchase btw), the platform has been glitchy and overall broken in many aspects, improvement rarely are, and the real issues and features that people have been asking for since years ago have gone unanswered............but-ebay has the resources to mess with the feedback as a priority?
If a seller sells in many categories- i can see the reasoning behind showing "relevant" feedback for an item that is in that category- so the AI bumps it to the top........ but the value of feedback on EBAY is in the feedback of the seller and the selling experience that they provide- NOT a product review. SO the seller has 100% and does an amazing job bringing in customers to ebay and then the AI shows the "relevant" feedback from 3 years ago that happens to be a neutral or negative??!! How is the "default" sort determined? Is this the "short version" of feedback that one must click through to get to the usual feedback page that also shows the DSR's? Will that page have a "default" order as well? Can a user select to use "most recent"?
Do you ever plan to allow "See All Feedback" to view that information for a user that has none?
How about enhancing the FB 'experience' for sellers?
Like maybe change the Leave FB page back to being in chronological order.
Or maybe give us a button to say 'don't show this again' on buyer cancelled transactions?
Oh and where's the explanation of the rationale for "most relevant"?

What's the purpose of having an image in feedback? ....and, what is richer text?

Can you please explain how a mixed order, and unviewable feedback adds creditability and increases buyer confidence?
How exactly are one's feedback scores "elevated'?
How exactly does this 'enhancement' increase buyer confidence, with a jumbled sort order and missing information?
So what will the feedback of mega sellers who received hundreds of neutral and negative feedback each month look like?
And, how will feedback for Private listings be displayed? Or charity listings with many negatives?
Also, exactly where are these feedback photos coming from? eBay stock photos or photos scraped from listings? Seller's original listing? (some of those photos are not the best). Photos uploaded by buyers?
For neutral or negative feedback, will feedback replies to them from sellers also be shown?
Which of the two feedback pages are you/they talking about, the 'new' one that shows six things or the real one that shows all?
As far as we can tell the feedback on our 'real page' for all IDs is set up/showing the same as always.
As to the 'list of six' one it doesn't tell me what the item was or the number - which it did before? - so I'm guessing that is the page everybody is typing about, right?

Thanks for taking another shot at this issue. As we all know, however, OP's are not required to return to their posts and participate. Though we would certainly expect better of eBay staff, I truly don't think it is going to happen. I think we have a name for such posters, but perhaps it is just in the south: Seagulls......i.e. drop their load and leave.
a_c_green
·2 years agoWe do expect better of eBay staff. Internal and external communication within eBay is atrocious: it's not only one of their worst problems, but in turn leads to other problems, such as no one knowing what's going on, what's coming up, what's being worked on, what isn't, etc. The Community contacts here are responsive, but the rest of the company is letting them down when it comes to actually operating as a cohesive whole.

·2 years agoPersonally, I think it's an unfair rating system if you are going to jumble it all up like it is now. The customers are rating us on many factors and not just product reviews. This isn't like a large retailer where you leave product reviews. This is a marketplace where the customer is working hand-in-hand with an individual seller. FB is a reflection of the ENTIRE transaction. I, for one, work very hard to make my customers feel appreciated and provide them with the utmost in care and quality products. I'm afraid that your "new" metrics will take that unique experience away and that is not what attracted me to sell on eBay in the first place.
The fact that sellers cannot leave bad feedback for buyers, regardless of the transaction, is bad enough. Not all transactions are smooth. You don't remove unfair feedback left by buyers, unless they are against your policy, which is getting rarer btw. The fact that someone can leave a negative without first contacting the seller so that they can rectify it. These all show that feedback is already skewed toward the buyer.
I don't want eBay to decide what feedback is the "most relevant." I want my customers to see the most recent feedback from the most recent purchasers.

Exactly this ^^^^^^^^! However, ebay says this: "These updates will serve to add credibility to reviews and increase buyer confidence, while also elevating your feedback scores and helping to drive conversion."
Yet when asked "how so?" they fail to come back here and qualify their assertion. i.e. how does one their feedback scores get "elevated"? Are they normally in a dungeon or something? LOL
Even though they were late to the party, I would surmise we are supposed to be grateful for some notification from @seller_news_team that the new "wonkiness" is an intended change.

·2 years agoThis place isn't like Amazon, where you don't have to buy something to leave feedback. You have to be an actual registered member or guest of ebay and purchase the item you are leaving feedback for. That's not credible enough?? There IS no way to qualify their assertion that it will increase buyer confidence. Feedback on here cannot be manipulated like it can be on Amazon. Maybe THAT is what they should be advertising about it. Feedback is actual buying customers.
I just left a review for a product on Amazon that I never bought and submitted it without any difficulty btw.

·2 years agoReviews for products on Amazon are not the same as feedback left for 3rd party sellers on Amazon. They are 2 totally different things. You have to make a purchase from a seller to leave FB for them on Amazon.
Reviews for products on eBay are a separate function from feedback left for sellers on eBay. On eBay you can leave a product review for an item you didn't purchase (at least you could last I checked).
Product reviews had such a low adoption rate on eBay and eBay's product catalog failed, so those are probably large factors in eBay shifting focus and (apparently) turning seller FB into a place to leave product reviews.
At eBay Open a big focus was increasing buyer engagement.

·2 years ago"buyer engagement" is no longer a 'thing' on ebay. (Much like the so called 'community'). They missed the boat on that one a long time ago. ebay is no longer a site to "hang out on" (except for some sellers).
The buyer today (for the most part) wants to log in, do a search and FIND what they're looking for, buy it and leave.
Gone are the days (partly due to the erasure of so MANY sub categories) when a buyer would happily browse ebay for hours. Most don't even bother with FB anymore.

You cannot leave a fb for an item on eBay unless you actually purchased it. There is absolutely no links on listings to do so.
You can leave fb on both Amazon products and 3rd party vendors by just clicking the link on the bottom of the listing. I did it yesterday for Amazon Christmas lights and could easily do it today for something being offered from a 3rd party.
eBay does a much better job of protecting the sellers.

·2 years agoMy post above is accurate @gloryglorygifts . Seems you're not aware of product reviews on eBay as you keep comparing seller feedback on eBay to product reviews on Amazon. My above post compared seller FB on eBay to seller FB on Amazon, and product reviews on eBay to product reviews on Amazon.
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/product-reviews?id=5186
There are 2 types of product reviews:
You’ll see a star rating out of 5 at the top of the listing which is an average of all reviews submitted.

·2 years agoYes, but the 'team' isn't touting this as an enhance Product Review system. They're saying it gives greater credibility to FEEDBACK.
gloryglorygifts
·2 years agoYour initial comment had everything to do with your seller feedback, not a product review. You even said that you only look at it a few times a week to "address any issues" that may have arisen. Then, you commented that since a thread was started that eBay seemed to have fixed whatever they did. This thread does not mention which type of reviews they are messing with. If they were messing with just the product reviews, I highly doubt anyone would have even noticed it. Are they looking to enhance buyer confidence in products or sellers?
I'm well aware that there are two types of feedback on here and Amazon. Amazon does have a large problem with fb. It was in the news this past Summer and I provided two links to stories about it. eBay doesn't seem to have that problem, yet. My point was how easy it is to leave a review for a product on Amazon. Ebay better have good systems in place to address that going forward because it does have the capability to affect your feedback and mine.

·2 years agoWhich of the two feedback pages are you/they taking about, the 'new' one that shows six things or the real one that shows all?
As far as we can tell the feedback on our 'real page' for all IDs is set up/showing the same as always.
As to the 'list of six' one it doesn't tell me what the item was or the number - which it did before? - so I'm guessing that is the page everybody is typing about, right?
b86fiero
·2 years agoSo what will the feedback of mega sellers who received hundreds of neutral and negative feedback each month look like?
b86fiero
·2 years agoAnd, how will feedback for Private listings be displayed? Or charity listings with many negatives?
Also, exactly where are these feedback photos coming from? eBay stock photos or photos scraped from listings? Seller's original listing? (some of those photos are not the best). Photos uploaded by buyers?
b86fiero
·2 years agoFor neutral or negative feedback, will feedback replies to them from sellers also be shown?
bennotbill
·2 years agoThat won't be a problem as I expect promoted/sponsored feedback will be along soon.
Get the feedback you want by "elevating your feedback" at a price.

·2 years agoThese updates will serve to add credibility to reviews and increase buyer confidence, while also elevating your feedback scores and helping to drive conversion.
@seller_news_team
Can you please explain how a mixed order, and unviewable feedback adds creditability and increases buyer confidence?
How exactly are one's feedback scores "elevated'?
How exactly does this 'enhancement' increase buyer confidence, with a jumbled sort order and missing information?
broto_64
·2 years agoYou know, the reason most sellers opt out of having our items listed in the ebay catalog is because of the flawed "item reviews" system where buyers are allowed to review items they have purchased. In theory a great idea, but its implementation often left a lot to be desired and if that review system is any indication then I can only imagine this new feedback system to work out similarly.
As well, I see quite a crowd of cheerleaders today completely touting the greatness of AI however I'm an older individual who sees this world through the eyes of someone who grew up in a place where we had dumb corded rotary dial phones and have watched the progression of things since, and I do not believe for one instant that AI's greatness is anywhere near what these cheerleaders purport it to be. In fact, it is as deeply flawed as any human programmed algorithm can be, especially one where a boss gives the order and five levels of supervisors and managers and secretaries down a small crew of subcontracted workers churns out the program in some sort of disconnected fashion as none of them use the same standard of code but instead produce a mish mash of some sort of C++ or perl or who knows what they use but it's a wonder it even works considering all the errors.
Sorry didn't mean to get long in the wind.
gloryglorygifts
·2 years agoI never liked that to begin with. Yes, in theory it is a great idea. However, when someone who is lazy just basically copies your title and description and then uses a picture that looks nothing like what you are selling, it gets dicey. You get descriptions that are corresponding with photos and those that aren't and feedback for both at the bottom. To me, that's a flawed system.

·2 years agoI would like the default to be most recent, not "most relevant"
I noticed this new way of sorting when I was checking my own feedback weeks ago. I HATE IT!
I want to see most RECENT feedback, by default. Like, how is the seller performing NOW? NOT six months ago!
jkramer2
·2 years agoI want to chime in and say that I'm strongly against this revision. If this is necessary, at least provide a way to sort by most recent. As a seller, I monitor my feedback number closely, and every time it changes, I look to see my most recent feedback. I want to know what my customers are saying and ensure I keep my rating at 100%. Also, advance notice of these types of changes should be given to sellers; it's always a surprise that results in a frenzy of freaked out sellers posting on these boards. Releasing "updates" like this and then explaining it well after the fact is just poor customer service.
a_c_green
·2 years agoAbsolutely. I review my feedback exactly the same way.
Again I agree entirely. It's also discouraging to read of sellers contacting Customer Service and finding that CS knows nothing about the details of a new release. They should really be the first to know.
Question for @seller_news_team : Some details of an individual feedback comment drop off after a month, six months, or a year, such as a link to the listing, or the title identifying what the item was. Will photos also drop off after some predetermined period of time?
tsme35
·2 years agoI saw the jumble feedback, did not like it one bit, I couldn't see the latest feedback from my customers. Keeps me on my toes if something is wrong, not all buyer send an email. We've been asking for combine shipping on the ebay app for over 5+ years and your wasting time on stupid idea's like this. Ebay really needs to get its priority's in order.

Questioning why this is only posted on selling board (thanks for that)....but doesn't it qualify as an announcement? These threads, once unpinned, drop into never, never land and when questions come up later......sure is a pain to try to find them again.... I note in AU it is shown under announcements.
Also, since it involves BUYER feedback.....seems like it also should be put on the buyers' board. Might explain to those million or so who HAVE uploaded pictures why the pictures aren't showing now....has to be a disappointment to those who bothered to upload them......

·2 years agoI like this!...so far!
I can go back 3 months...is that the limit?...To see photos of feedbacks from me or other sellers and such.
I like to see what is purchased and why such and such feedback was left.
A lot of complainers here probably don't sell or buy a lot of items....just my opinion.
I haven't seen old feedback bumped to the top.

·2 years agoIt looks like the announcement on the Australia boards shows a picture of what the feedback with images will look like if anyone is interested.
https://community.ebay.com.au/t5/eBay-Announcements/Buyer-s-images-will-now-be-displayed-with-their-feedback/ba-p/2548119
They also provided a link to an FAQ page, which of course only applies to Australia but my guess is most of it will cross over to other markets as well.

·2 years agoWhich promotes what I suggested above. eBay did a 180* on the policy to not allow product reviews in FB and now they are encouraging it.

·2 years ago🤣They actually used a picture of a steering wheel cover on a sneakers purchase with a comment about "sneakers" and "kicks" as a GOOD example?
Were they joking?
I can't believe that's the one they actually used as the highlighted example.
Am I misreading it?
wastingtime101
·2 years agoScreenshots of new features generally show what eBay put up to test the functionality. I wouldn't read anything into it. (But I get what you're saying.)
valueaddedresource
·2 years ago@ltldpr - I didn't even notice that at first, too funny. 🤣
It may be an embarrassing oversight but I agree with @wastingtime101 , I wouldn't read anything into it beyond that.
cstpos
·2 years ago@ltldpr I thought the same thing! I kept looking at the floor of the car to see if you could see the shoes. Does the ebay employee who approved that get a 'ding' on their permanent record?🤣

·2 years agoI'm pretty sure that's a dummied-up test or sample page. If you notice, the disguised buyer ID is the same for every comment.
